Personal skills I think mainly,A bit of not wanting to fit into the teams patterns I believe.
He just seemed to not be a team player. -

Moving to a Japanese club feels like a money move. If he wanted to advance his test coaching experience I would have expected him to head to the NH

As per the post above, maybe the whole team up of JJ and Brown go somewhere.
I think Scotland are the main team still unconfirmed and I reckon they would be a great fit to Scotland's 'DNA". Hard forward play combined with adventurous backs. -
