@Victor-Meldrew There have been reports of some dodgy twitter posts from Vaughan from around the same period that are in the same vein as the alleged abuse e.g. Not many English people live in London.. I need to learn a new language..
MV has apologised for "disgusting tweets" but denies he said (something similar TBH) to Rashid.
ECB are running scared and Vaughan's revenue streams are drying up rapidly

An important note. TSF's favourite left arm fast bowler made a lot of kids very happy at the Mount and Papamoa cricket clubs junior prizegivings over the weekend.
We don't seem to have our photos up yet, but Papamoa has some good pics and posts: https://www.facebook.com/papamoacricketclub

Central stags win the plunket shield in pretty remarkable circumstances. Was a must win match that had lost a day to rain and got helped twice, firstly by Auckland declaring while still 100 runs behind in their first innings and then collapsing to 103 all out in 30 overs in their second innings.

Good of Auckland to try and get a result with rain.

@MN5 and not that it should be overly relevant but a nod to Baz who has the highest strike rate on that list

Three kiwi keeper/batsmen there. Nice. ( although had he given up the gloves completely by 2013 ? In any case lovely to see )
Also not a single West Indian. Sir Garfield, Viv, Richie, Gordon, Dessy, Brian etc will be crying into their rums at the sight of that.

These stats to me really indicate what a legend KW is.
From memory he had a bit of a typical kiwi batsman start, ie a couple of big scores to indicate he might have “promise” but not much more than that. The kind of guy who might be as good as Nathan Astle or Craig McMillan one day.
Up there with Ross Taylor ? Pfffft, no way.
I just took the last ten years off his career on cricinfo…..on this day ten years ago he had played 22 tests for an average of 31.86 with three hundreds. Real standard Black Caps specialist batsman return there. His improvement is mind blowing.

White Ferns are currently in Sri Lanka for a series of three ODI's and three T20I's. Unfortunately it took an injury to Jess Kerr, but finally someone in NZC saw some sense and brought Leigh Kasperek back into the touring squad.
ODI #1 saw Sri Lanka win a rain shortened game (29 overs per side) by 9 wickets with an over to spare.
Today is ODI #2 in Galle with the White Ferns batting first, and with Suzie Bates becoming just the third female player to reach the 150 ODI milestone. Sophie Devine scored 137 & Amelia Kerr 108. White Ferns 329/7 at the completion of their innings.
