@nzzp looking at the Teams meeting video, no lammingtons on the table...

Are Lammingtons that much tastier than Lamingtons? Has an extra m(mm)...
"Lamingtons on the table?" should be point 1 on every agenda.

I'm not a cake person at all, but Lamingtons are surely kiddie food. Sponge cake dipped in chocolate rolled in desiccated coconut.

At a morning tea, my weakness is always

@taniwharugby If it's any consolation this thread prompted me to go and buy - and scoff - two sausage rolls.

100%! I get really annoyed at work if someone gets catering and they've tried to get something fancy instead of a selection of sausage rolls, party pies and those little quiches. They're also convenient in that I can load up a plate of them and take them back to my desk with minimal interaction with other people in the office.

Are you a cheerio slut as well? Cheerios with tomato sauce, or cocktail franks are the shizz

@dogmeat Ohh that looks good. Haven't had one for years. My mum is in NZ and I ask her to bring some back but not sure she can. Have to settle on packaged stuff.

So covid has become a non issue so this thread has become the food channel. Coffee and cream buns.

Little and Friday in Auckland makes the best donuts.

I suppose I could but cooking is not my thing and sometimes my Mum complains of differences in ingredients over here. Like the cheese is not as good as back home for her cheese scones.

Lammingtons are premade sponge if you don't want to make them, packet jelly, and coconut. Do americans like jelly?

Yes. P&J sandwiches. Their Jello is our Jelly. Their Jelly is more of a spread that looks like Jelly but is less dense. Hence they spread it over the peanut butter on bread. But I could look at the recipe and proceed. Sounds simple enough.

Superb. The Doughnuts from 'the tuck shop' at Wynyard were apex for me - seriously impressive. Also, I love custard in my doughnut.

Had cheerios at our wedding. One caterer we were talking to refused to do them, offered oysters in shot glasses instead. Fark that, cheerios were super popular, and kinda funny

At the opposite end of the sausage spectrum, I'd go a bratwurst hotdog from Vic market anytime anyday. Love the mystery meat in tubular form

Same. Reminds me of a story I heard in my army days when slightly warm saveloys were used during blindfolded interrogations …

Wtf do people actually like those little party pies? They're either a nuclear core of skin off the roof of your mouth, or a cold lump of stodge. Either way they taste like nothing.

Agree, them and Sizzlers are really just a small step away from dog food.
