Reds v Crusaders

@antipodean missed the second half but yeah he's trash. Most of the refs are trash at the moment.

Scrappy game.
And the Suncorp surface was chopped up pretty bad.
Some good touches and nice hard running. LF is in sharp form.
Had to laugh at one of the commentators post game saying Heinz played well. Must’ve watched a different game to me because his laboured approach was poor. Hotham looks the goods.

Suncorp has always cut up hasn't it? I was there all the time when I lived in Aus and couldn't believe they never got it sorted properly.
Agrre Hotham looks like he will be good, he looked good at NPC last year I thought, and although obviously at 19 got some developing to do, think he will be around higher honours in a few years. -
Dom Gardiner continues to impress. And T. Williams who continues to grow, and the 19-year-old halfback were also good out of the "young ones". Some really good halfbacks starting to come through the franchises.
LF is on fire! Lacks full on pace but he is just a workhorse that has become the go-to strike weapon for the Crusaders. With Reece and Jordan not playing there is a chance good defensive teams could shut down the Crusaders by focusing on LF. -

Seems to play bigger.
Has LF ever been a loosie? Runs like a hardrunning 8 imo.

@nostrildamus The thing I like about this season is that we are bringing in a lot of our academy players. Surely it is more than most years due to all of the injuries. Hoping to see the Macca Springer get a run before the end of the season and hopefully Alex Harford.

@nostrildamus He has put on a fair few kilos since then. At 193 cm, he is rather small for a lock though. Both he and Grace seem to go really well in the lineouts at that height though.

I haven't been all that impressed by Patafilo so far. He just seems to be making up the numbers. Bit of an indictment on Fihaki I reckon.

Crusaders lineout was under real pressure - but, not surprising with Barrett, Gardiner and Lio-Willie as the options - we really had a first and third jumper - but, no second option.
Pretty short on real offensive weaponry - Big Leicester the standout - a few others having their moments.

@Chris-B Should be getting some more troops back soon with Grace and Blackadder. Really think we can make a strong push for the finals. Any word on George Bower's injury?
Strange,Gallagher and Brewis due back this week.
