Not sure where Big Red sits in the Blues plans now.
I imagine he'll start at 6 next week with Hoskins rested and Akira at 8.
He has had a couple of light weeks. Just load balancing between players?
Edit - sorry I thought you meant Hoskins.
Yeah bit weird how Leon is preferring two starting 7s.

@KiwiMurph with 24 contracted PUD contracted players that won the Super Rugby U20 comp in Taupo you would hope they have the ability snare the best ones from that lot

Especially given their lock and lineout options.

@KiwiMurph So where is Auckland Rugby's favourite number 8 these days? Thought he'd have kitted up for the Force today?
-
Alama was obsessed with making stunt selections. It worked with Olmstead and no one else. The shit Aussies last year, the AFL guy etc

Perofeta runs the cutter with so much more control than BB these days. With the Blues firepower out wide, I would have thought he is just what the team needs at pivot. Control with the punch if you know what I mean.

Evans got through a fair bit of work on d in his time on there

It's obvious to everyone except the head coach.

The way TJ commentates you'd think the Force were ahead by 13. Such a muppet.
But today it seemed to be balanced out by KT’s over exuberance for all things Blues 😉

Well that was was a horrible watch. Positves = Blues will be relieved to get the W and AB rest week out of the way with no other major injuries.
SP and Choat were Blues best by a mile. Sullivan with some nice touches. Telea had a mixed afternoon, lovely scything runs and then tits for hands. Eklund couldn't find let alone hit a barn door. The try from JRK was a goodie. Flush the dunny and move on. Roll on the Chiefs. -
who looks a better 15 these days, Sullivan or Barrett?

"Carnival Sunday?"
It looked and sounded like there were a few hundred people max in Eden Park for this. French D2 Rugby or English National League 1 attract bigger crowds than that. How can it be Super Rugby if the crowd has the atmosphere of a morgue? What about holding games against the Force out in the smaller provinces? Can't the marketing department do better than this?
By contrast, Saracens Vs Harlequins pulled in more than 55,000 paying spectators to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium yesterday.

Probably more like 10,000. But a light crowd. I went to see Perofeta and Zarn; One better than the other, but Zarn continues to show silky skills at times. Needs to play.
Super as a product has been wrecked. How many games do people watch that aren't their team? The experience yesterday was dominated by pumping music into every break, so loud you could hardly talk about the rugby with your neighbour. Anyway, overall a good day out, despite the rugby - and that's the key issue. the product is terrible at the moment.
