Bill Tidy of the Fosdyke Saga & The Cloggies fame. One of the great cartoonists and satirists
-
The Cloggies was brilliant. Some great sideshow characters. The Blagdon Amateur Rapist might not pass muster these days though.

Dick Fosbury had the jump on everyone at the Summer Olympics and they were still trying to catch up to him in the Fall.

I read his book while house sitting in the UK.
Had a pretty tough time of it like so many former fighters by the sounds of things. He was also very bitter about Roberto Duran and the low blows too by the sounds of things.
Gotta love a man who fights in tartan shorts though. RIP Ken.

Total musical genius who not only bridged Classical and modern music but also across two musical cultures, Western and Eastern. His soundtrack for Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence is one of my favourite pieces of music

Iām not sure him and his partner were the absolute best ambassadors for how kiwis were in the 80s but I always felt immense pride that a couple of genuine NZers ( Boris Zhukov was actually American as was Kamala as two examples ) were part of the WWF as it was then.
Thanks for the memories, wrestling in those days absolutely rocked and he was a part of that. Outlived loads of his contemporaries too.
It also cracked me up that they wrestled like āheelsā ( bad guys ) with lots of biting and stomping but the crowd still loved them.
RIP
