This is the third time this season alone that they've clocked 50.

slightly off topic but related, Its interesting because I had thought of Coles starting and how other players have been typecast as finishers and not starters these days

, and wondered if he had come along second when we had a seasoned starter , would he be typecast as an impact type that shouldnt start because of his flair and x factor ?

I think the 45 pts is the largest winning margin by the Chiefs.

Yes, beats the 42-point win over the Cheetahs in 2013 (45-3).

The Chiefs highest score is 72 v Lions in 2010.

Thought the Chiefs starting front row had a good game in scrums. Replacements also fine, but when Slipper replaced Reds noticeably weaker. And stood up reasonably well against Crusaders, even with Yamashita starting. Good to see as for me that has probably been their only real weakness.

Harris has a huge positive effect on that front row.

I've been banging this drum for years but according to a certain poster I'm just an ignorant Kiwi who should shut tfa. Apparently the Australian conference is just awesome.

Quite like a post I read somewhere with two tiers.

Perhaps could have lower tier of ten.

Lower tier play first with top two going through to main comp. Then main comp -- top ten from previous year and two qualifiers. Rest of lower tier play their own tournament.

That would also help the bloated length of season to get sorted.

But many ways of better skinning the cat than the current mess!

Nah, the front row has been better collectively irrespective of the hooker (Harris or Elliot). For example, the Chiefs scrummed well in Suva with Hames, Elliot and Yamashita starting.

The real improvement has been Yamashita, who can now hold up his side of the scrum. Even Moli looked OK against the Reds.

Hoeft and co have obviously done a lot of work after the problems earlier in the comp. Not bad when you consider the Chiefs best 3 props (Manu, Laulala and Graham) are all currently injured.

Yeah, I'll admit my that my balls don't shrink half as much when I see his name on the team sheet.

Having said that Harris is a major improvement on Marshall, and with him and Elliot we are world class there. That's nice.

Overall, I think the big difference in the last couple of weeks has been Hames. I'd argue he's first choice loosehead and he has helped make our scrum much more solid, and occasionally a bit of a weapon. I'm stoked for him that he's healthy and even more stoked that he's playing for us :)

Looking for video of Harris' head-high tackle/throw at ~65minutes. Can anyone point me to a vid?

Not that I'm saying our players SHOULD un-necessarily pick up opposition players by the head and throw them around like rag dolls. Just I'd like to see it again.
