Wow, that was special. One of the guys at work, (a BOP rep), pulled up Spark Sport on his spare screen and most of the office watched the last 3 overs. A bit of karma after our tough luck against England and India. Great fightback team. I am so proud of you, after watching you up against it at Bay Oval.
Well we won bowling first, but not quite in the fashion you would have expected!

Perhaps bowling first and bowling last is our niche.

Great finish. Well done the BCs. A really gutsy performance from a pretty dire position.

Second time in Tests (Oz v Windies 30 years ago), and second time in NZ First class cricket.
That was the test with the Ambrose 7 for 1 spell to end it.

Herald borks it completely. Rates this no 1, and has the WTC victory at No 4. no, no no.
WTC 1
This a close second.Yeah WTC was a special moment and will probably never be surpassed as number 1 on these lists ever if we win another world cup final, because the WTC final was a fantastic cricket match as well as the final as well as the first win as well as the crowning moment of a golden generation that might otherwise have been remembered for losing four finals.

Not many tests would have been more of a rollercoaster than this one. Momentum shifts...
England 21/3
England 323/3
England 435/8 NZ103/7
NZ 209/102nd innings
NZ 455/5
NZ483/10England 53/1
England 80/5
England 201/5
England 215/8
England 251/8
England 256/10Phew!!!

Our second innings also went from 149 for no loss to 167/3.
Blundell is quietly building himself a pretty bloody handy record. 4 tons, an average of 45 from 40 innings with only 4 not outs.
I remember after Parore retired we had a real period of purgatory until Baz settled the wicket keeping position down, and since then it feels like we've had a bit of an conveyor belt with Baz, BJ and Blundell all looking absolutely world class.

As England blast the ball to all parts (or at least try to), are Smith and Marnus Labuschagne really going to keep leaving it in more and more ridiculous ways, like two men pretending to have a lightsabre fight with a couple of baguettes?
Brilliant!

Absolutely.
Not an exaggeration to say we’d be fucked without him.
I’m still not entirely sure which of Baz or BJ makes my all time test XI.
Blundell is complicating things further if he carries on like this.

The talk overnight of non-wide calls is nice, good to be back on the right side of the equation for that after 2019 😊
England can take solace in the fact that they hit 86 boundaries to our paltry 75 (if my maths are correct) in the definitive metric.

Great. We won then 😀

Ordinarily this morning might have been a good time for the usual rant about two Test series, and if only there had been a decider scheduled for Friday at Hagley.
But in this case there seems something very satisfying about the after glow of a one run Test victory. Especially after the first Test margin, and then following on.
(I hope anyone who genuinely saw that coming also cashed in big time at the TAB! )

Anyone know the best odds you have could picked up? End of the 2nd day?

15 years ago Ian Smith had a bloody good claim to being our number one all time keeper. Blundell is probably a few years away from pushing him out of the top 3.
