Foster, Robertson etc

Here is the article with the video from last night's story. NZR seem to like shifting the goal posts.
No it doesn't at all. There is nothing that says he is disqualified for applying just that they don't think he is good enough. And it is all conjecture/rumours
"But sources close to the situation have told Newshub Rennie will not be considered for the position, when Foster’s contract ends after the World Cup, although NZR would welcome him back into coaching, preferring a Super Rugby-type role first."
Nothing there says he's 'not allowed' especially since Joseph/Brown are mentioned as possibilities straight after. Just that he won't be considered, similar to me
-
@Machpants I agree. It doesn't read to me as a requirement either, but I'm not sure it's because "they don't think he is good enough" (as you suggest). It could also have to do with the fact that he has just been the head coach of one of our main rivals and that they want some time in-between that gig and the ABs head coach gig.
Also agree that this comes from the rumour mill, nothing factual.

Possibly, maybe they don't want the look of getting Ozzies left overs - NZR are proud, unlike AR! But really if they were competent, that should mean jack shit, so I was being generous that they think he isn't good enough, rather than being so proud as not to consider an Ozzie reject
-
@Machpants Or just possibly they have seen he wasn't too great at test level, so think he needs a bit more, or more importantly think mentally he would need a decent break. He's burnt the bridge by his record with Wallabies anyway, like it or not.
-
@Machpants You're giving a negative interpretation to what I said and this is definitely not what I meant.
Even if he had completed his job with the Wallabies, that might have prevented him from getting the job because he has just coached one of our main rivals. With Joseph you don't get that, because Japan isn't a traditional rival. It might just be a timing thing.
Anyway, it's all speculation.

NZR should lend Razor to Fiji for the year, he can get some international and RWC experience all in one go before taking over the ABs next year.
NZR won't hire them on the basis that he didn't achieve a 100% record with Fiji in 2023.
-
@gt12 get over yourself. Considering who he was coaching and their injuries he did a pretty good job. So you should direct your anger towards is the New Zealand rugby football union for the safe and stupid selection of Foster when they should have been considering more astute coaches like Rennie. So far as I'm concerned, he's welcome to anywhere back in New Zealand.

@mariner4life thanks for the feedback bro!

@broughie Next year looks very interesting a new coaching setup and a number of players leaving after the World Cup. While many players have left it seems we could get a lot of coaches back from overseas.
You think Vern Cotter might fancy the Hurricanes job assuming Holland's contract isn't extended after 2023?

Or back to the Crusaders were he has been a coach before in 2005 & 2006.

If Robertson does get the AB gig from 2024, and the assistants he wanted last year, there will be 3 SR head coaching jobs available (Blues, Hurricanes and Crusaders). We know the Blues had a succession plan, but I don't know about the other two franchises.

As long as Holland leaves, I'm all good with that

Interesting to see Crusaders CEO hinting that Razor perhaps gets too much credit for the squads resuts?
But really bloody interesting to see hgow good their academy is and how much they seem to spend on it!
