I see the Whittaker v Costa fight is off the Perth card now. Costa is pushing for a later date and/or doesn’t want to fight RW in Aus

Hooker is still trying to get on that card. The UFC has said they’re keeping spot for him but finding a ranked opponent willing to travel is the problem.

Still going to be a good card but it could’ve been huge

Any predictions on what Ngannou does now?

A boxing payday seems unlikely. He's not that well known outside of the UFC and he wasn't a big draw in the UFC. So what's in it for a big boxer? You'd make more money fighting another boxer, you're expected to win easily but of course Ngannou has a massive punch

PFL? The seem to be throwing some money around the possible fights don't look that interesting though

I wonder if the knee injury is more serious than has been made public? So Francis is chasing one last big pay day? Or maybe MMA is over because he can't take a leg kick

Really looking forward to Jones v Gane

This looks mostly like White calling his bluff.

@MajorRage I think he has definitly pushed the envelope, but i think he has done it for good reasons, although maybe not the smartest move. Jon Jones tried the same thing, Dana white is a harde businessman

I think he will go to PFL but this will be more side income, as he will look to have exhibition boxing matches and hollywood stuff and endorsements.

The current UFC contracts are very restrictive, the sooner a fighters union comes in the better.
Fighters should be allowed their own gear sponsers at a minimum.

    @MiketheSnow

I almost have the same picks for the main event.. I have Andrade beating Murphy

Craig v Walker is the fight I'm most interested in. Hard to pick, contrasting styles etc. Craig to survive early adversity and then choke out Walker

    @MiketheSnow

It reminded me how much I dislike the crowds in Brazil

Moreno has never looked better. Looking forward to seeing Figueiredo at 135 with less of a weight cut

Hill was better than I expected

Hooker has an opponent: Jalin Turner

Hooker wanted to fight on the Perth card but the UFC couldn't find a ranked opponent willing to travel

Tough fight. They are right next to each other in the rankings (Turner 10 v Hooker 11)

Turners last fight was beating Brad Riddell so the CKB coaches are familiar with him

McGregor better start dieting. Not sure how effective all those big beach muscles will be in a fight.

Islam is a massive favourite but fuck it I’ll pick Volk to win. His tdd will hold up, he’ll avoid the big shots early and his crazy cardio will wear Islam down. Volk KO in the 4th

    Yair in the co-main

Most of the Aussies will win. The card seems skewed towards the home town fighters

Hope Young goes well. Two years since his last fight, four years since his last win. So plenty of pressure on him

I scored the main event 48-47 Islam.

The comments on strength were fascinating given what Islams LW opponents have said in the past. Eugene asked Volk in the corner if Islam was strong and he said no. After the fight Islam commented on how strong he thought Volk was. I was surprised at some of the reversal in positions in the clinch and the success Volk had fighting the hands.

Surely there must be a genuine LW who will do even better?

Yair looks amazing when he has a speed advantage

Jack Della Maddalena a future champ?

What was wrong with Pedro? He's looked very good since returning from injury but was off yesterday. Gassed after a moderate amount of grappling? Or an injury?

Adesanya, Hooker, Kara-France watching in the front row. They were confident it was 2-2 heading into the last

@Duluth cheers for sharing that. I'd seen them fizzing at the end of the fight, like Volk had won. I wasnt so sure but thought they've have a better idea than me so was stoked.

Cant wait to see the rematch.

    Edwards or Usman?

Usman dominated the last fight until “Headshot. Dead.” He should win this.. unless his ego makes him want to get into a striking fight. Edwards is trolling him into it.

I’m picking Edwards get the style of fight he wants. He works over the body/legs and doesn’t go headhunting

    Fiziev to KO Gaethje

Promising start to Jack Shore’s career at 145. Result was as expected but he looked comfortable at that weight
