Been getting into Glen Campbell over the last week or so. Never quite realised he was also a genuine Guitar God who would probably be in the top 10 in any genre. That said, this is seriously un-cool though
Not quite sure about that….but he was definitely very good.
I saw Glenn Campbell live when I was about 16. My mum was a big fan and was going through a hard time, I managed to save enough money for her and a friend to go but her friend pulled out at the last minute. So I was the ring in and tagged along hoping I wouldn’t see anyone I know. And turns out it was a seriously good gig and think of that night every time I hear Rhinestone Cowboy or Witchita Lineman
Fantastic
I think most professional musicians know how to put on a good performance. I also saw Madonna at Wembley Stadium, seriously uncool, but her whole stage show etc made the show, regardless of the music you walked away thinking Wow.
I saw Glen Campbell at the end of his life, on his last tour
Wonderful
An unforgettable evening

its funny how a band that has sold in excess of 50,000,000 albums can be so "uncool"...

Bands need to sell 100 million to be a really big deal though.

@MN5 that means jack, unless FNM is now uncool, supposedly with less than 5,000,000.
TBH I'm not sure what constitutes cool or not, I mean if you like something, then it is 'cool' to you?
What ? Rookie numbers.
That does it, I’m going to go to the garage and throw all my CDs in the bin.

Seriously? Damn, everyone I knew had a copy of The Real Thing when it came out. I thought it would have sold over 5m on it's own.

Yeah I’m calling bullshit on those numbers.
They were never quite stadium fillers like GnR, Metallica, Foos etc but they were definitely a big band.

@MN5 this says US and UK sales...
But at the end of the day, who gives a shit, if you like them that's all that matters, especially since I don't expect @nepia knew more than 1 million people in nz and aus....
Hey, I was using some sort of mathematics projection of numbers ... might be a pointer as to why I never went on to study any maths after 5th form.

You’re definitely right and I was taking the piss with my 100 million remark, it’s what you as an individual likes that matters.
I still doubt the accuracy of that list though….The Real Thing and Angel Dust were huge albums and you hear songs from both of them all over Hauraki and the Rock. I’d put them at about 10 million each worldwide at least. The albums after them were less popular though.

lol what? don't be ridiculous. you gotta cross genres and markets to sell that many albums. It would put them among the highest selling rock albums of all time. FNM are fucking great, but a band with one charting single ever is not shifting 10m units of one of their albums.
I'm shocked that my fav FNM album is reportedly that far behind the preceding two in sales. King of a Day is fucking awesome.
