One end open, but only an hour left. Not sure if we can get extra time due to this whole Friday prayers thing.

Not sure what you mean extra time overs will be bowled within the allotted time.

Normally when a test match is close (eg 1 wicket or not many runs required) the umpires grant an extra 30 mins to try and complete the match.

I don't think that can happen in this game though as they appear to be running to a very strict schedule.

Not on the last day anymore with Friday prayers there is no time to claim the extra time

3.2 The umpires may decide to play 30 minutes (a minimum of eight overs) extra time at the end of any day (other than the last day) if requested by either captain if, in the umpires opinion, it would bring about a definite result on that day (this is in addition to the maximum one hour's extra time provided for in 3.1 ...

That's only on day 4 of a test match (or any day when a result is possible before the last day). They certainly do not add on overs at the end of the test.

This game has 22 overs left. Needs to be finished "officially" by 5:30 (1:30 our time) but there is potential for 30 minutes overtime to complete the overs. This 30 minutes is the same as for every day, not just the last day.

The issue here is that it's unlikely to go much past 5:30 due to the light issue we had last time. I suspect there is more like 18-19 overs to go.

I don't understand why Southee and Henry are bowling. The new ball is 6 overs away. Let Sodhi and Ajaz have a go and then when new ball comes let Sodhi continue with the new ball and rotate Southee and Henry at the other end.

That was a bullshit wide call. The batsman moved well down leg and the bowler followed him.

We may not take the new ball easier to score of it,
Harder to score if the old soft ball maybe that is their thinking.

I worry that if we don't get another wicket they are going to chase this down pretty easily. On the other hand one wicket means that will be the end of the chase.

I think the new ball is essential. .

No doubt they are going to chase this down if we don’t get another wkt.
But with the older ball maybe the thinking is the wkt may come as they have to force shots more.

It's going to be interesting. Sodhi has bowled well with the new ball.

The only thing on our side is that there probably aren't 15 overs left. More like 12-13 with the light.

We need to bring those fielders in tighter run a ball and they win easily with balls to spare.
We need a couple of maidens from somewhere great viewing though.
It maybe why we are bowling a quick from one end for so long hoping we don’t get through the overs and bad light takes the overs away as you say.

Ajaz has to come out. He's not bowling well.

Why hasn't our best bowler (Sodhi) bowled in recent memory?

Strange tactics Sodhi should be bowling we need to take Ajaz off.
