This was the most exceptional thing about Jonah IMO
Arguably the most balanced runner I've seen. Never forget Jonah scoring against Scotland in '96 (great game with Cullen scoring at will and the Jocks putting over 30 pts on us) and appearing to tiptoe down the touchline at full pace. Breathtaking balance.

@TeWaio not sure what is going on with Clarke, the balance issues weren’t a problem at the Blues for the past three years.
He’ll do something incredible, and then explicably fall over. His pros aren’t matched by any of the other wingers, so I can see why they are persisting with him but Jesus put on some longer sprigs or something.
Perhaps he's just trying too hard? He's anything but a lazy winger and goes looking for work so may need to just relax a bit.
-
@KiwiMurph Looks like he's supplanted his provincial team mate in the pecking order, with Big Leicester sent to the ABs XV.
Hinton giving credit where it's due even if he's a season behind the times!

Jonah and Cullen for me. CC was amazing stepping off either foot without losing pace. We were very lucky to have them both at the same time

Love all the posts complaining about not having the “best” team.
We’ve had a shit season so far that has meant little opportunities to bring the whole possible squad into things as much as we need and are taking an opportunity against the lowly Scots.
Are you guys scared of Scotland all of a sudden? They probably weren’t scared of Argentina at home either
-
It's also worth noting we are yet to play 2 good games in a row all year.
This was a perfect opportunity to follow up the win against Wales with a good performance. Instead I worry we are heading for a scratchy rusty performance, probably squeaking through at the end.
We need to rescue our aura through big wins against middling opponents ts.

@Bovidae I reckon Leicester will need an absolute stormer (and Clarke have a shocker) this week if he's to get a game for the real ABs this tour.
I think it's quite a bit more likely that we'll see Reiko on the left wing than Leicester vs England.
It's almost shaping up for that - otherwise Caleb will start 4 games straight.

I am going to go against the grain and say I hate the number of changes.
The team played well against Wales and should be given time together. I don't see the point in bring Perenara back, or Havili back.
Scotland almost beat Australia a few weeks ago and are not easy beats.
I HATE THE SELECTION.
Overconfident , and thrown together looking side. Leave Jordie a 12.
If we are down to Havili at 12 in the RWC we are fucked anyway. We don't need to see it now.

And this right here is why I fucking hate our team full of 90s Black Caps bitsa players
We want to rest our 10 so we have to change the 12 and the 15 to do it.
DH and ALB together in midfield won't be giving the Scots too many sleepless nights.
a powder puff 12 and a 13 who runs sideways and throws basketball passes.

LF missed his chance to play a test by not being available for Japan. Like RTS and Ennor, he'll have to be content with just playing for the AB XV.
I thought that Reece might have switched to the left wing for this test to accommodate Telea.
BB going off early would put a lot of pressure on Perofeta.

Harmon to be named on the bench.
Never going to happen with a not injured or suspended for assault Frizell being in the squad. He is the favoured son, essentially if there's a 23 selected by Fozzie and Ryan, no matter what he's going to be in it.

Ioane back to the wing is a shit idea

I'm no physio or medical expert but I'm guessing after his injury the leg muscles aren't properly balanced (or one/some were over-used compensating for others).

I think Clarke is very lucky to be playing ahead of Reece in this game as he was very poor against Wales. He needs to have a performance that backs up his talent.
It's frustrating. Good under the high ball, pace, reasonable defence, can break tackles but has this knack of tripping over, running away from support (or the support not backing up) and letting a great break die.
Worth sticking with though.

Definitely frustrating. To me his biggest flaw is his lack of balance/proprioception, which I'm not sure you can coach into someone. This was the most exceptional thing about Jonah IMO (rather than his obvious size or speed). It's something Ardie has too. The "just can't put them down" factor.
Exactly. But I think one can improve it with proper guidance.
NB I noticed Julian Savea display impressive balance way earlier in his career as an AB. Don't know where it went. -

DH isn't usually accused of being a Juggernaut but he plays ok against midtier sides usually.
As for 13 the cupboard is allegedly a little bare-you have
Goodhue-who seems sadly now off the pace
R Ioane-who some here say doesn't pass at all
Ennor-who only likes catching the ball on Sundays and then finally:
ALB-who you say "runs sideways and throws basketball passes" .. can that be worse than an AB 12 who throws like an NFL player?
