@Damo Afghanistan can play spoiler tonight and if they do pull it off, Oz will need Sri Lanka to win and win huge.

They just have to not get spanked and they've likely played spoiler. Be interesting game as Aus really needs that NRR way up.

Yeah but that isn't going to happen.

Aussie will murder them. Aussie don't lose games to minnows at the end of tournaments. They generally only lose games early in tournaments.

@No-Quarter England beating Sri Lanka is no gimme though. Sri Lanka do like the SCG.

Very good performance overall, solid batting display and then our bowlers have done enough to get the job done comfortably, exactly what you want against a minnow that has already knocked over a top team.

    That's presumptuous mate.

48 required off 8 balls We could be heading to a super over.

Waist high full toss going for 6 off the first ball and it's anybody's game.

It has been a strange sensation to be watching the Black Caps live and not have been panicking for the last nine overs

I heard one guy on the radio this afternoon try and do the numbers and by his estimation Oz need to bat first and score around 220 and then roll Afghanistan for 80 odd.

I wouldn’t have a clue if that is right or not.

I will give the maths a go in the break between games but I read law, so you'll have to take your chances.

The comms just said if Aussie get about 185 they will have to bowl out Afghanistan for 0. 😆. England just have to win

According to me - for Oz to get ahead of us they'd have to bat first, score 232 and roll the Afghans for 48 - or something equivalent.

If the Afghans bat first it might not be possible - but that might be some muddled thinking.
