The FIFA rankings are a crock of shit. Rugby rankings are way more accurate. I can't remember which world cup it was where USA were ranked number 1 I think heading into the tournament.

Isn't there a degree of subjectivity in the FIFA rankings as opposed to WR where the points system is pretty rigid? -

<p>Quite possibly. The problem with the soccer rankings is that with so many countries and soccer being what is with draws and 1-0 results, it's very difficult to classify 200+ countries into an accurate rankings list.</p>

<p>There is no way England is in the top 10 countries IMO, with once again a woeful display at a major tournament.</p>

<p>The Rugby rankings are excellent, only losing the plot at World Cup time where the silly decision to award double points simply distorts the rankings.</p> -

<p>All Blacks can be thankful twitter wasn't around when they lost to club sides midweek... </p> -
The weird thing about recent England tournament failures, is we seem to perform more badly as the tournament progresses. <br><br>
So either it's because more time spent with the coach makes the players actually worse, or the little princes get too "bored" away from home for any length of time, and their little minds start to wander. Or maybe Roy confiscated their PS4s.<br><br>
It needs looking into because for years we haven't "toured" well.
