According to a spokesperson from the Hurricanes, the squads will be officially revealed late in October – with the 26th a likely date.
Thanks. So Wednesday this week. Hopefully the roar is more accurate than their Canes team though (but at least they make the effort. And recent signings are included)
Outside backs: Julian Savea, Jordie Barrett, Pepesana Patafilo, Salesi Rayasi, Josh Moorby, Peter Lakai
To be fair Lakai would go alright on the wing.
Interesting that Patafilo is there despite rumours that he’s joining the Crusaders.
-
@Winger the Blues one is well out of touch, looks like last years squad with a few of the well known additions/exits: Romano and Goodhue still listed as locks...still has Tamati Tua who meant to be off to Brumbies, no Rob Rush who has signed for blues are ones I am aware of.

Those squads are well off The Crusaders still have Klein,TTT,Naholo still there but they are gone.No Springer who has signed.
The Blues list has Goodhue,Romano and Tua who have all gone.No Rush who has signed.Chiefs still have Brown in there who has gone overseas.
Highlanders still have Tomkinson,N Punivai and Selby -Ricket who are not there and no Broughton or Holland who has signed.
The NZ squads are no where near correct. -

I hope he stays. He stepped up for Wellington in a big way. Can also cover center. A very safe option. Was surprised he got the starting wing spot as opposed to CGB but fully justified his selection.

Yeah he is a no thrills, safe option on the wing but has the elusiveness to do damage. A pretty good option when there’s already plenty of firepower in a backline.

Almost as if the Highlanders are last to check out who has been left out to grab few last minute rejects 🤣🤣

Can anyone make out the players from this Hurricanes post? I think the front three are Lakai, Higgins and it looks like Jackson Garden-Bachop. I can’t tell who the back two are…
Back left could be Kini Naholo. Definitely stumped on the player on the far right.

Any mention of when the Pacific team will be named?
could probably go in the social media/marketing thread too...but, why are the NZ teams going it alone...why isn't this a big event for all the teams to announce their teams?

We are still waiting on what will happen for Super Rugby (or any alternatives) in 2024

has this already been posted?
News of the impending deal came as whispers grew of New Zealand interest in Major League Rugby side LA Giltinis. The Giltinis, who were previously owned by F45’s Adam Gilchrist, are closing in on their own deal to secure their future in the American MLR competition after they were suddenly booted out during last year’s finals series along with Austin Gilgronis.
buying and MLR team would be an interesting move

Both teams mentioned above have just been cut from the MLR tournament for next year (announced 5 hours ago or so).

Staggered announcements. 2hrs in between. I think it's a good move. Allows each team to be focused on individually and digested as seperate entities.

So, who missed out on a spot?
Jordan Lay from the Blues.
Josh Beehre and Danny Drake as locks.
Gibson and Garden-Bachop from the Hurricanes.
TTT and Milo-Harris as halfbacks.
Tom Florence, Sititi, Ekuasi, Peita, Melvin as loose forwards.
McKenzie as a 10 and 15.
Moses Leo and Denny Solomona as midfield/wings.
