Numia needs to convert to hooker
No he doesn’t, he was the best prop on the park.
He made a mockery of that Brewis selection in the AB XV.Aumua was a beast aswell, and his line-out throwing was exceptional. (For once)
I'm thinking about higher honours. He's a fantastic player but doesn't have a chance in hell of surviving at prop at international level. If he could learn to throw, we'd have 3 blockbusting hookers for the ABs for the next tenish years.
Yeah fair call, he’s a bit small for international honours aye. Mind you Kane Hames played International footy and he’s a lot smaller.
-
@Canes4life maybe shorter but I'd need thorough convincing he was smaller.
-
Wellington's forwards look well coached, Hurricanes fans must be sad Paul Tito isn't in their coaching group.

Yeah Hames was definitely shorter. I feel like Numia has put on a few kegs this year. I think he’s up around the 118kg mark now which is probably why he’s playing like he is. Could be wrong though but I think I heard that mentioned somewhere when I heard he was the Lions player of the year.

The Canes need to get Ellison back. Apparently he lead the defence this year and that was the catalyst for our title run.

118kg
Doesn't pass the eye test. If he's as big as his peers he sure holds it a lot better.

Hes not so bad. Leader of an impressive forward display
Agree. But....
The guy's a grub.
Constant after-the-ball stuff. Shoving, mouthing off, just... being a dick.
“Oh... you want the game to be tiddly-winks!”
No. I want to be able to have a beer with my opponent after the match. -

When he collided with O Franks in that first half I was actually thinking Numia looked about the same size. Maybe it was just the angle.
Hopefully Numia can take that form into Super Rugby next year.

@Canes4life that Defence was all Tamati and the boys playing for each other was so awesome to watch
-
Tamati in line to take over Leo next year surely

Canterbury fucken chocked when it mattered.the most.
I wouldn't call that a Canterbury choke. Wellington played bloody well and Canterbury played as expected. Canterbury just didn't have the fire-power in the backs to create anything when Wellington got on top in the forwards. The signs have been there all season for the Cantabs.

Yeah I didn’t see a choke just outplayed.

He is still Crusaders defence coach and is tipped for a bigger role,
In 2024 when Razor goes. -

Looks that way doesn't it Ber? Just out of interest who remembers the AB's ad Tamati was on when he just a kid?
Have to say I know I been on his wagon for a while, but I have to repeat, the more I see of Riley Higgins the more I like. I thought Canterbury may of targeted him last night, but not only his attacks etc looks ok, was impressed with his defence last night...... and workrate, always looking to get into a good position it seemed to me.

Tito is highly rated.
Tito, 43, was on Taranaki's coaching saff from 2014 to 2016, achieving Ranfurly Shield success and National Provincial Championship (NPC) premiership and championship honours.
He spent three years as forwards coach at French club Pau until returning to Taranaki after the Covid-19 pandemic.
Tito was the Chiefs' under-20s head coach in 2021.
Lewis - a former Ta$man Mako chief executive who took the Force job this year - said Tito’s experience would bolster the Force coaching team.
"He is a coach with a winning mentality, but importantly has a wealth of international experience both as a player and coach.
Taranaki forwards 2014-16 & 2021, Pau 2017-2020, Wellington 2022.

He was forwards coach for us last year also. I heard a rumour last year the Canes offered him a role but the Force tripled it so he went.
