It's a shame Poihipi isn't a starting 12 in Super. Class player.
He may well be next year. Poihipi/ALB combo

Gee how did Christie miss out on ABXV

Canterbury too good. We weren't good enough. Plenty of players were good enough but we don't have the depth to lose first choice players
Love that 70s throwback Carter on the wing and Ah Kuoi must have been close to ABXV selection

Yep, to win in Christchurch we needed almost an empty injury list... bugger.

I particularly liked him aggressively giving Poihipi a shove when Poihipi was on his knees and then once he stood up pretending like nothing happened and running away.

Not a fan of selecting older non-developmental players like Heem for ABs/AB XV honours but dang Willi Heinz is running around like a young pup, looks better than Christie or Fakatava.

Heinz is really slow at getting the ball to his backs and is capped for England

BOP played the breakdown well, but Heinz contributed to our problems in getting ball out. He was taking an eternity allowing the BOP defence time.

Same all year too. Drummond would sub off and Heinz would be a step down
Is Drummond back for the final?
-
@ACT-Crusader wasn't that also the BOP forwards getting in over the ball and making a mess of the BDs?

He should be if he passes the protocol tests this week.
Drummond’s played well this NPC and I’m one of his biggest critics

The BOP ruck work was very good but Heinz was slow on a number of occasions and once he arrived the BOP defence pounced. Not a fan of his work tonight.

Heinz kicking from the base of the scrum was excellent and applied a lot of pressure on The BOP back 3.
But he was slow with his delivery that slowed our 2nd,3rd phase down so it broke down because of that.
