So the Wobs have launched an official complaint about Raynal. Did they launch a complaint against Nick White's dive?
All evidence points to Raynal being correct and justified as well as providing opportunity to stop the call happening.
What do RA think they are going to get from this?Foley now saying the ABs had influence on the ref to change the call.
Even if that’s the case, who cares.
How many halfbacks are waving their arms and yelling at the ref when there is a delay in getting the ball into a scrum by their opposite number.
How many players in a lineout are yelling and throwing their arms in the air when there is a delay by the opposition hooker to throw the ball into a lineout.
I agree. I just found it interesting Foley was implying the ABs pressured Raynal to make a decision in their favour, ergo, the ref is a cheat and favoured the ABs and the conclusion was preordained.

Foley is coming across like many Strayan cheats.
Clean cut smiley holier than thou appearance on the outside.
Cynical cheating piston wristed gibbon in reality.

Support for Raynal has come from World Cup finals referee Nigel Owens.
"Clear communication and warning to the player to get on with it."A fair and strong refereeing call [by] Raynal I feel. Learning [Lesson] here is not for the referee, but the players to get on with it when ref asks."
He added later: "I don't think there can be much argument when you listen to the audio posted on it.
"It's pretty clear to me.
"Other referees may well have ignored this, but to me, that would not be doing your job as a referee.
"Players now should all be aware and not delay or waste time."
In other reported comments, Owens said, "Sometimes, the unpopular decisions are the correct decisions.
"He's clearly given warning, there's a lot of time gone, the rest of the backline is shouting at Bernard to get the ball off the field.
"The easy thing for a referee to do here, which others may well have done, would be to ignore the time-wasting and let him kick it out 35 seconds after the penalty is given and do nothing about it.
"No-one would have had a go at the referee. So he's actually made a strong refereeing decision."
But, Owens said, he would have taken a different approach as he once did in a European Champions Cup match where he added time when a team attempted to slow the game down.

We deserved to lose that based on 20 mins of complete inaptitude. Really should have put 50 on the Wobs especially with all the advantage we had however, I have zero sympathy given some of the shit the Wobs have gotten away with/been afforded.

Worse thing about the ending of the test due to the Refs call and the Swain incident is that those things have taken the focus away from another shit performance under Foster ,we lost the plot again in the 2nd half and Never should have surrendered the lead we had.
Just same old inconsistent performances, and papering over the Cracks that are going to bite us in the Arse against the top teams, because the Aussies are not one of them.

I can see why the ref made the call he did, it's kinda like when you ask your kids for the third, fourth and fifth time to put their toys away and they still ignore you. The grace and decorum for which you ask for the first time are considerably different to how you ask the the fifth "I'm going to throw the book at them" time.
Foley was gaming that he could waste a lot of time and the ref would do nothing. He gambled and lost - his fault and his mistake.
In regards to the game though terrible defense by both sides, the pattern was in place to negate the attack (more or equal defenders in place compared to attackers) but neither side particularly adept at putting the ball carrier on the ground. Even the last try we send the ball wide and it's 2 attackers against 4 defenders and JB scores .Made for lots of tries being scored by both teams however...

Should’ve grounded him as well

Everything the ABs said yesterday.
They are being quite honest about their reviews and they know that the focus wavered and they paid for it.
I don't mind that if they take that as a lesson and improve. Much better than wearing a loss to learn from. There were 3 obvious player errors after the Wobs got down to 13. All errors that could have had us marching away.
Sami should have done much better with ball security going for that try. Then there were two clear opportunities squandered with loose passes. We haven't learned to be properly ruthless.
In that game taking advantage of the numbers was even more important as, once things returned to 15 on 15 we were compromised due to the reshuffle. -

There are differences though. This time when under the pump they didn't go all stupid as the did earlier in the year and throw the ball randomly around. We might have got lucky with the time wasting call but that was also on the back of some poor calls not of our making. We pressured the convicts into sealing off for ball security then had a maul smashed from the side and a turnover awarded to a guy on his knees.

I think we were lucky we got a penalty advantage and RI took it upon himself to get the ball away from the forwards. I am not confident we would have scored otherwise.
