Quite stirring watching all four of her kids marching behind her with the pipes.
Hope that make it all the way. They're all in their 70s ...
Anne & Charles look really fit for their age, but there's a lot of walking today - from the Abbey to Admiralty Arch and in Windsor. Just hope they don't have to do the Long Walk - that's 3 miles....
Anne will breeze it. Charles will get lost, Edward will be given a piggy back by Sophie and Andrew will be stopping off at Pizza Express - or at least that's what he will claim.
Oh and it is the Wellington Arch at Hyde Park Corner as destination. Admiralty Arch is off Trafalgar Square, though they will pass it. Sad to know that the latter has been sold off to to Waldorf Astoria to make into a bloody hotel.
Would upvote but that second paragraph is kinda unintelligible.

I used Admiralty Arch and not Wellington Arch as destination.

And my point stands ...

Shot just then off her coffin looked sad and lonely

That would have been a nice time to sing "We'll Meet Again" . Would have fitted nicely.

I know we're sending Liz off in accordance with tradition, bur would be nice to acknowledge we're now 20+ years into the 21st century.
Having said said, couldn't help but join in The Lord's Prayer.

To be fair I’ve never seen a coffin looking happy and connected
Fair.

Liz, you rock
-
But jeez the music is awful
-
Would prefer something uplifting, and celebratory of her life

King James Bible was so 400 years ago ...

Perhaps it's that mix of tradition and the modern world, even 20+ years into the 21st century which is important? Female military officers commanding, people of every colour & religion participating alongside the pomp seems pretty representative of the modern world, I guess.

Agree, but probably a step too far and you'd have to assume she had some say in it. It was good to hear the people clapping though and I hope we see more of that as the hearse travels to Windsor.

Just tuned in and it sounds like a theatre production when the baddie has just appeared.
I'm half expecting Gargamel to enter from the side of the screen.
Sombre music is fine. Just gone on for way too long.

That was really something. Incredible day.
It was always going to take something to celebrate a Monarch of this magnitude and it was duly pulled off.
Rage family laid flowers at Windsor last week then also watched the hearse go past.
It’s really caught me out the impact this has had on me. Im pretty far from a Royalist but I’ve really felt this.

Having experienced it firsthand previously, there is something quite awe inspiring about the organ and choir at the Abbey when it’s cranked up. Made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.

I thought the way they carefully laid out, along the route, all the flowers that people had previously left at Windsor a great touch.

Me too. Seeing the flowers that members of the public had thrown still on the hearse when it entered the castle made me a bit emotional.
