All Blacks MOTM v Aussie I

Hard to pick. They all played well in periods. Then undid all that work by resorting to Foster-Ball.

@Bones Caleb Clarke made 146 metres running. Next best from an All Black was Jordie Barrett with 49.
There are lots of work ons in his game, but his rawness is fantastic.
ABs don't need raw. They need athletes that can execute basic skills and have a modicum of peripheral vision. It's quite incredible for Clarke to clock those numbers and still possibly not be a net positive.

Too much speed work, not enough basics. Nice of him to rack up all those extra metres running away from his teammates and ruining opportunities.

@Frye He makes yards and often good yards every time he has the ball in hand. Not many current ABs do that. Caleb Clarke is genuine power winger.
Codswallop. H makes metres by being put into space. Then tackles himself before the opposition get a chance and doesn't link

He's a power winger. It's his job to smash on as hard as he can.
Would be nice if he did that instead of starting to go to ground before he reaches the tackler.
The support play on the times he got put into space was fine. It's his job to link.
There's more than half a dozen players that should be considered motm before he even enters the thought process.
-
@Bones There was an obvious MoM (ST) who was outstanding, Whitelock was brilliant in the lineout yet again, apart from that it was a very mixed bag from the Men in Black, no one else more than a 7/10.
Nearly went with Nugget or BBBR for the 3rd vote. But nothing like their best test displays.

Sam T is the easiest pick we will ever have. The soft tackle on Foley aside, that was pretty much perfect.
Either of the locks, but i thought Brodie was playing haaaaard last night. Wrecked a lot of shit.
And i gave my 3rd to jordan. Again, that's a shocker of a missed tackle, but for the rest of the game he was heavily involved. Scored a great try, provided a rundown tackle on Marika that led to a turnover. Seemed to be roaming around looking for opportunity.
Reiko and Sam W for the honourable mentions

He’s not as good on attack as Jonah ( to be fair who is ) but he’s also arguably worse than him on positional play in defence.

Sami T, Retallick, Smith (thought his passing was very good and he was right there when we needed to clear ball - other than that one scrum)
Next best: Whitelock, R Ioane, Mo’unga (goal kicking was good)
-
Christie has been good off the bench in recent games I thought, nothing fancy just does core hb duties well and tries to get the ball in play as quick as possible.

After my re-watch I conclude Will has been totally stiffed in this poll. Aside from the miss on Samu he was excellent. We lose that game without him.
Sami T. was also good, but he also lost the ball over the line being tackled by a halfback - which is about the first thing everyone remembers about Jeff Wilson's career, but forgotten here - and he gets bumped off by Koroibete, but he won't be the last that happens to.
