Cane played with constant strength and application all game. Lineout was great so Scott Barrett and Whitelock also for me. Taukeiaho was great. Taavao was good. Christie added a lot off the bench as did Mounga. Our back 3 were pretty awful. Missing high balls and being bundled into touch or miskicking into touch. I wish Reece was there!
Sorry, late to the thread and missed the game. Did the ABs win ?
Best game of the year apparently.
Best performance wasn’t it ? Considering they did OK against Ireland first up I’m assuming they beat the Boks by 15-20. Sweet. Good old Foster !
Well Foster praised the Boks and yes he said best AB team performance so A+ and A+ make A++

BB is playing as well as he can with the ball (when we have it) that he gets.
He's not. I've lost count of the number of times he's held the ball and taken a tackle when all it needed was a quick flick on. It's frustrating as fuck. I expect a lot more from him than one awkward break per game. I don't think I'm expecting too much.
You aren't expecting too much. 2022 BB is simply an average 10 in an average team.

Tell me I'm wrong but BB plays best when he plays like a 15. At 10 he doesn't seem to know what to with the ball unless it's a questionable kick, a hospital pass or (less and less these days) a linebreak.
But I do think his defence is underrated. -
I picked ST, SBarrett, and Clarke.
None of them stood out in the game
-
@ACT-Crusader oh hell yes, even looks like he's running in treacle at times. Those little pops in the tackle are his bread and butter, yet he's just not serving up the sandwiches.
-
Late to the party, but just finished watching it.
ST - one of the few physical forwards
CC - solid defensively, good on attack, reasonable workrate
AS - energiser bunny. Still want to see him come on with 30 to go, but that needs a balanced loose forward trio -

Interesting to see the love for SB. Apart from the lineouts his stats aren't great. You know we're in trouble if Whitelock makes more metres with the ball than Barrett.
It's been the same every match this year, clearly there's something about the way he plods around that the Fern loves, that is never reflected in the stats.

@Nepia the wish to see players actually doing something and trying fucking hard is strong. He looks like he's trying to lead and getting zero support from his other leaders.
One of the few players to tuck the ball under his arm and propel himself through the Bok defensive line, rather than catch the ball and do a jig before getting smashed.

the lack of physicality in the carries wound me up big time. Los of cute little passes that the defence just read and swallowed us up. Fark, we play such dated, dumb rugby right now.

Only 2 runs for 5 m says Barrett wasn't very effective, which was the point I was making.

His one run alone would have been effective if there was anyone running a half decent support line.

But he looks the part doing those two runs.
