NPC 2022

@Kiwiwomble Can't see it getting any better with Silverlake, which will be all about short term financial return from the ABs.
Only hope is an expanded NZ/Australia competition with about 16 teams.
-
No Waikato team released, of course.
Most of the teams are crap at keeping their fans updated. Waikato consistently the worst over the last few years, Harbour not much better
That plus the lack of coverage makes it hard for fans to follow the competition
I would like to see the NPC steal an idea from Aussie SR. They named every team at the same time every week. I believe it was 7pm NZT every Wednesday. Regardless of if the were playing Fri, Sat or Sun
I think the NPC should do a similar thing maybe on Thursday afternoon. All the teams could be listed at the same moment on the official website. (Obviously this couldn't include the 7 games scheduled for a Wednesday)
That consistency would make it easier to follow matches, bet, tip whatever. The journalists would still have time to read TSF, steal some ideas and write an article for Friday

If this is what lies ahead with Silvercake and their knowledge of social media then dark times lie ahead.
Look at all the feverish debate on the ABteam and Npc lineups for this weekend. Imagine the interest it is stimulating to go to or to watch games.
Oops forgot. It is all about posting highlights packages of matches the day after now. Can't impact on the demand for that.. -

well that aint gonna go to well if the team in the shop window aint looking good...thing is, NPC might be a small part of the puzzle, but it is an important part of the puzzle that builds the ABs
you're right...although i would argue NPC is or should be a bigger part of the puzzle than lots seem to think
Currently...or i guess previously...we may have had something flash and impressive in the shop window...but once they caught someones attention and they came inside looking for something to personally to connect with...a local team....we are a opshop with little people will want
wringing every drop of out this analogy...its currently like an apple store with a huge flash billboard our front showing their latest $2k iphone...and you go in and theyre out of stock
relating back to my experience in melbourne, i see all the hype around the AFL...i watch game at the pub but havent been to any games live....what i have done is go to my local VFL ground to watch...and i get there and there is loads of merch, there are the junior kids still in the kits running balls around, there are old mates all meeting up for a yarn and a beer....and i know it superficial but when you go to get a beer....and there is a $5 stubbie holder you go why not...and you're hooked...next game you grab the comemrative scraf theyre selling...or a cap because is sunnie..and it just becomes your team

Not sure if it’s been posted, but for West Island Ferners, they are showing NPC 2022 on Stan.

@ACT-Crusader i dont think we'd talked about it in this year but i had assumed they were because they did last year

@Duluth I've tried archiving those pages of the official site, and the stats don't get archived, only the text. Each time you open the page, whether the original version or archived version, it has to download those stats from Opta.
So as soon as that link between the official pages and Opta is broken (for example, if they decide to go for another stats provider), you'll lose all the stats.
-
Where are the stats on the NPC site? I can potentially see if I can collect them and display them in a more user-friendly way
You go to these team list articles each week https://www.provincial.rugby/news/bunnings-npc-round-one-team-lists/
If you click on a player you get a range of Opta stats from the game for each
