The Warriors - KD rumours seemed to be shut down pretty quickly after getting an early run.

One analyst has put together a package that sees both KD and Kyrie end up in Phoenix. It doesn’t include Booker either.

Joe Ingles who was here in Melbourne watching the Boomers play China has joined the Milwaukee Bucks.

Nice role player for then, chance for a ring for Joe

Why would KD want to go with KI? If he wants to play with him he can do it in BKLN. If he wants to leave because he is butthurt with the way they dealt with Kyrie I'm not sure I want to blow up my team for that

@gt12 yeah I watched that live from Windy after the Royce O’Neal trade.

The question now is will Mitchell end up at the Knicks.

@canefan they don't want to play for the Nets.

Bit of a bitch move by Durant after they stood by him during his rehab. That's the danger of putting your trust in a superstar mercenary. Sean should have stuck to building in the draft

nah every GM in the league makes that play if it's available.
It's gone very wrong (unless they get a good return) but a few very specific things had to happen for it to blow up.

And, lets not forget, they were a KD toe from knocking the Bucks out last year.

@canefan likewise the Nets shouldn’t have agreed to a deal that allowed KD to hitch his fate at the team to what Kyrie does.

Nets wanted their guy (KD) and got him - but with a massive risk attached.

Of course hindsight is a wonderful thing. And no one will blame Marks for making that deal. We'll see what the market is like for Irving now. LBJ might be the only guy who can keep him straight. KD certainly couldn't

They have nothing valuable to trade. Unless the Nets want Westbrick....

Lakers would have AD, LBJ, Kyrie, and a bunch of guys playing on the veterans minimum. Which they might as well do because they are screwed in the draft for a few years

How much of a fluffybunny do you have to be that a team would take Westbrick and that contract over you?

@mariner4life the only saving grace is that Nets will only deal with the Lakers if they get more than Russ. Not a great look for Russ.

    @ACT-Crusader

That's a fucked up contract though, like 47 milion or something.

What would it take for the Nets to take on Westbrick and still be a contender? Move Simmons or keep him? Other pieces?

One thing about Russ, is that as the man and by himself he would probably show up everyday, and with the right pieces they could be dangerous, so they could conceivably finish about the same and have a team of players who are turning up everyday and working hard, which ownership might care about as they try to save face.

I don’t mind Russ. He can’t shoot to save his life but if he can regain some of that form he showed in the second half of that season with Washington, where he and Beal were pretty dangerous together - a big if after this Lakers nightmare - then he can be an excellent piece for a team that already has an established star and scorer.

47 big ones is a massive dent in anyones cap, but the Nets could offload Kyrie and Joe Harris to make room.

I read that in games without LeBron last season, Russ averaged 22/8/8 on 55% true shooting. That's not bad at all, but he just stunk up the gym as part of the main unit. It's not worth $47m either, but if the Nets have to ditch an unreliable Kyrie then it kind of works.

His contract expires at the end of next year so they would get all that cap space too.. Russ and a bunch of role pieces, draft picks and a budding superstar from the KD trade and they will at least be competitive

Could the Nets trade to get Russ and a championship side? What would be the other pieces?

It would be fucking hilarious if they traded Durant and then won with Russ (I know its a dream).
