It was pleasing to see some of our Forwards constantly getting over the advantage line big improvement there.

Savea,Scott Barrett,Bower,ST all good with ball in hand
For me Papali'i needs to start.

Sadly with cane as Captain that would leave us with 3 7s. And I think we will see that next week. But Hopefully dog roll and Sam as locks, Brodie was lacking impact

Bower was excellent. I think he's vastly underrated.

I get that Papalii is quality, but fuck Cane is criminally underrated. I thought he was his usual awesome self tonight, coming up with some big tackles and got through a lot of work on d, what more do people want from him? The guy is a beast at this level and we're very lucky to have him and Papalii to choose from.

Can I hate the Irish team for their "soccer" antics and pressuring the ref?

They should be better than that. Begging for YCs is poor form

So who thinks the second test will be really close? I do

    Not me

    Even bigger margin

Would be hard to leave out Mo'unga on form, of course.

Especially based on Beauden tonight. BB had the service of a very good A Smith performance, but was pretty much anonymous except for stinking up his kicking game.

Also, did that Auckland pommy ginger Kirsty pass to Mo'unga once?

Why do you think the coaches use Mo'unga that way? They subbed him on but used him as a second play maker while Beauden continued to run the ship. For me, if they sub Mo'unga on then it has to be for Beauden so he can run the ship but it doesn't look like they trust him to do that? Mo'unga is a fantastic SR player but it really doesn't look like the coaches think he has what it takes at test level right now

@African-Monkey 6 runs for 1 meter gained and 14 tackles is hardly earth shattering for an All Black 7 and captain.

All those covid Crusaders will be back to add to the selection conundrum

Probably won't play everyone 3 weeks in a Row, maybe changes for test 2, probably for game 3 if we win the 2nd test.

I'd expect minimal changes for the second Test unless injury forces them. Perhaps SB to lock and DP at 6. Maybe Caleb Clarke replacing LF - though that' d be tough on the latter.

Looking at how well QT & Reiko went tonight, I think Foster has to balance giving new players a run and building combinations at say, 6/7/8 and midfield.

    Called it at the time

Think the ref was exhausted with the RI tackle replay not to have a look

I think our big work on is Beaudy, and the other kickers. Exits and kicking for position

They really don't trust Mo'unga though do they, even when they sub him on they leave Beauden out there

He and Barrett just don't look comfortable out there together do they?

Dmac and Barrett together looked much better when we saw it.

Would be hard to leave out Mo'unga on form, of course.

Definitely, though DMac isn't a natural 10. Mo'unga is the king of Crusaderland so putting him in a secondary role to Beauden doesn't seem to work. The coaches need to make the call - one or the other - as you can't have two captains steering the ship.
