The Blues were very ordinary tonight and lucky to get over the line. They played their best Rugby earlier in the season. Razor and his Crusaders will have taken note and will be planning an Eden Park ambush.

I'll watch the game later (tragic alert!), but not sure about the Christie hate on here.

His passing live was solid, he hit people consistently on a wet night. His work defensively was superb, he gets out and harasses people, and is consistently fast getting there. I don't remember his kicking being too poor on a night that few people kicked well (wet ball, wet underfoot)

All in all, he was fine. A big step up on Nock, way better than TJP. Not Smith, and not showing what Fakatava has. Should take teh line on himself more, he runs infrequently unfortunately.

His speed to ruck and defence work is excellent but his decision making and accuracy has been lacking the past few weeks.

As to the Blues, those damn bombs were clearly a tactic, so hopefully they won't be using them as much kicking to Jordan, Reece and Leicester...

The Blues in full flight are something else, sadly, they went into thier shells and tried to defend.thier lead, the phases leading into Eklunds YC was keystone cop stuff, and was the period that almost lost the game.

There will almost always be reffing decisions that impact the game, but focusing on one is where the problem lies, as others have mentioned already, the non call on White and the maul try...both potentially pivotal moments, but all the focus will be on that last ruck, which when you slow it down could have gone the other way too...

Again, MacDonald obviously doesn't trust Nock, or Vikena, as neither got on the field. In fact only the 2 props and Romano were used off the bench.

Blues Coaches froze. Their tactics were shot and they stopped using bench. Reminded me of ABs at a World Cup.

Interestingly they had no stats feed

@chimoaus i looks pretty daming , yes there may have been other calls that could have gone either way during the game , but you know what a team has time rectify any wrong doings ..but that call could have changed everything ..will take the win as a Blues supporter , but i will say i would have had no issues if the call had gone the other way ..

also, a shout out to Perofeta for charging the conversion that was missed. Ran hard, got in the eyeline, maaaybe affected the kick. Potentially the game in the washup.

Every incorrect/marginal call has a sliding doors moment that could heavily impact the outcome. If White was carded for cynical play on the ground or the Brumbies try was disallowed it would have had an impact. The call was 50/50 and the Blues got the rub of the green. If the Brumbies had held onto the ball instead of going for the drop goal they may have got a penalty and won.

Sport will always have these moments and good teams take it out of the hand of the ref and focus on their roles and what they can do next.

I thought Lolesio was going to get another attempt because I’m sure another Blues player started his charge before Lolesio started his approach.

The run from Perofeta was good though.

Yep, someone took a few steps then turned around and went back.

Refs obviously thought it wasn't material. For me, if you're going to charge early, make it worthwhile. Like Cruden vs Ireland back in the day - if you're early, kick the damn ball off the tee, don't just peter out and wander off. If they get a secnod crack, make sure the first is affected.

@Dice Great efforts for sure, I thought Christie saved a try with that hit on the tryline also.
