Bloody awkward hours to watch live - 10pm starts in the tests... so will only watch the first sessions, then look at the highlights the next day.
Harden up mate, got to burn the candle hard 😉
Nah mate, that would be burning too many candles
Are you going to try to watch every session ?I'd love to. But normal life will get in the way. When we played the warmup games in England last year I think I stayed up until about 2am every night. And on the final day of the WTC I was up until 3am until sanity intervened
Yeah, would be brilliant to watch all those sessions - Test cricket is a great watch, it's about battles within battles... unfortunately as you say it would be too difficult & exhausting, you'd be completely knackered for the whole day, pretty much impossible to do that 5 days in a row, especially if you have a job.
Yup. I agree, the way test cricket is played these days, I can't think of another game that can keep you enthralled for that long. We really are in a golden age for test match cricket
I've almost completely given up cricket in the last few years - mainly due there being way too much of the stuff. But I'm planning to watch this series to see if I can get my interest back.

The Black Caps batting coach(es) and psychologists don't seem to do much these days - except possibly watching from the stands with a few beers.
Similar to the home summer, in the two warm-up games the Black Caps top order fronted in one game, and then spent the other game metaphorically in the pub. Kane spent much of the IPL batting like it was a test match series, but unfortunately his form didn't carry through.
At one stage we were 9/5, and then 19/6 against a county team. https://www.espncricinfo.com/series/new-zealand-in-england-2022-1276891/first-class-counties-xi-vs-new-zealanders-tour-match-1311520/full-scorecard
Blundell with match scores of 8 & 0.

@Donsteppa and that is why I am not sharing the optimism that others are feeling.

After our home summer, highlighted by the capitulation to the Bangles, no one should be feeling too upbeat. The lineup looks decidedly shaky. Latham blows hot and cold, Nicholls scares me, and Blundell has not kicked on at all

Must be because of how crap England are……
I mean in cricketing terms a Black Caps ticket is the hottest in town right ?

I checked online.
Tickets were NZD$140 for restricted view, and $200 for the cheapest normal seats. That's just insane - I remember it costing GPB45 a day when I was there in the early 2000's, and I thought that was steep! Put paid to the idea of following the NZ team around as I had no money
We've got it good here in terms of test match access, cricket is cheap by comparison

We had an up & down home series against both Banglas & South Africa, losing a couple of shockers, so I'm expecting us to be far more focused against the poms... in general Latham, Nicholls & Blundell have played well, test cricket as it is you're going to have a poor run now & again.

From Cricinfo:
The early news from our reporters on the ground is that New Zealand are strongly considering picking Trent Boult, who only arrived in the country on Monday evening after playing in the IPL final on Sunday and was widely considered to be a major doubt. Ajaz Patel is also expected to play which would mean two seamers - like Neil Wagner and Matt Henry - missing out.

@nzzp supply and demand. Plenty of the former not much of the latter here in NZ. Usually the reverse in Blighty.
Not surprised there are 1,000's of tickets going spare at Lords. Prices have rocketed to silly levels. When I last went about 6 years ago, tickets to the Edrich stand and the Grandstand were about £50. They are now nearly 3 times the price.
Beer prices were always pretty reasonable, but wonder what they are now?
