Common sense required as rugby wrestles with its status as a collision sport

Common sense required as rugby wrestles with its status as a collision sport

Rugby appears caught in a paradoxical universe of wanting to place paramount importance on player safety - and being seemingly incapable of adopting common sense when ruling on accidental collisions -- Liam Napier writes.

Maybe a potential flip in the QF make up.
Chance of a Tahs win and a Canes loss.
Just a sniff but it would send the Canes to Canberra and the Tans to Hamilton.

Veteran trio call time on careers

With over 400 games of Super Rugby experience to their names, the Western Force can confirm that storied veterans Jeremy Thrush, Richard Kahui, and Greg Holmes will be retiring at the end of the season.

Ardie Savea has negotiated a deal that allows him to play six months overseas in 2024.

So three out of the four quarter finals now confirmed.

    Crusaders vs Reds

    Chiefs vs Waratahs

    Brumbies vs Hurricanes

Blues wonโ€™t know who they play until atleast after the next game.

@FakatavaFuture our season ended last year in Canberra when Jordie missed a last minute penalty, hope he can win it this time. ๐Ÿ˜‚ I just know the Canes hate playing there, especially when itโ€™s freezing which Iโ€™m sure it will be.

@Kirwan canโ€™t beat Wellington on a good day mate. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Itโ€™s not that cold here, itโ€™s just windy. Not bitterly cold like Christchurch and Canberra anyway.

@Canes4life Yep, it's not as bad as people from outside the region make it out to be. In Summer, I actually prefer Wellington's climate over that of the North with its horrible humidity. I hate sweaty weather.

Edit: Nothing beats the weather in the Bay though. ๐Ÿ˜‰

@Stargazer itโ€™s funny, weโ€™ve actually had very little rain for the last few months. Iโ€™m sure that will change though as Winter sets in.

I used to live in the area. It was cold, windy and had too many earthquakes.

Nice when the weather wasnโ€™t coming off the Antarctic.

I'd almost prefer the Rebels to beat the Highlanders as the Force will be a much easier proposition in a 1/4 final than the Landers would ever be.

But stuff that, I ALWAYS back a NZ team over anyone else, come on Highlanders!
