Wasn't sure where to put this, would have fitted perfectly on Awesome Stuff, Stupid Stuff and here ... edit: I think it's better without sound ...
Is this a blind team ? I’m not sure how people can be that shit at catching and fielding

A nice one here for the Stattoes amongst us. My poor old Kent team on the wrong end of a record. Surrey amass 671-9 declared. The highest first class score without anyone making a century.

How many runs did Extras contribute?

Good question: only 11 though. Seven guys made 50 without reaching a ton, which is also a record I believe.

@Catogrande How many instances of three batsmen out in the 90's in same innings? I can't find the Stat 0- just that it has never happened in tests.
Hashim Amla's 12 very noticeable. CdG run out in 60's (for the Kiwi's interest)

No idea I’m afraid, but I love cricket for those “didn’t quite make it” stats that mean someone has done well but sort of fallen short. The two really great ones are of course Bradman going cheaply in his final innings and having to settle for an average of just under a hundred. Then poor old Jim Laker having Tony Locke take one wicket in the second innings to leave him with only 19 wickets in the test.
Edit: I see that Lock (no e) actually took his wicket early in the first innings.

…..and of course from a kiwi perspective Paddles taking the catch off Vaughan Brown ( who ? ) to deny himself a shot at ten wickets in the match.
I also remember this one from back in the days when you had to read the newspaper to get cricket news………Mark Waugh falling one run short of becoming the first team to get the first four batsmen centuries……
Bugger.

That scorecard makes grim reading for an Englishman. Brings back some dark memories.
As a cricket lover that series was compelling viewing though.
Graham Gooch got player of the series too if I remember rightly ?

Gooch and Warnie shared that accolade. Compelling? I remember it as being pretty one sided and Wiki confirms this. 4-1 with one match drawn. 2 innings+ defeats and a consolation victory in the last match. Aussies with one foot on the plane home. Good individual battles though. Gooch standing up to the new larrikin Warne.

Compelling in the sense that there were some interesting mini battles…..but England had too many journeymen to compete overall.

I watched 3 of the 4 SL v OZ ODIs (got a bit of time on my hands) and they weren’t a bad watch if for the drama alone!
Congrats to the Sri Lankans on their series win. They’ve got a couple of good ODI batsman in Nissanka and Asalanka who both scored ton’s in the series. Their death bowling still very much a work in progress but I thought their batters handled Cummins, Hazelwood and Green pretty well.

Marizanne Kapp might have played on a different pitch at Taunton to the other South African batters. 150 (213) out of a total team score of 284 all out.

That is so unfair now that Luaral Hubbards and Lia Thomas' mates have been prevented from being in the team. Can they make an exemption for Caster Semenya?
