Hurricanes 2022

Interesting indeed!
-
Love this
And who’s that in the background? Please be a fit and firing Colesy.
-
@Canes4life Great jersey!
-
@Canes4life fuck wouldn't be wearing that during training, those temex jerseys are worth a stupid amount, they go up about $100 each year but now they're selling for around $600 on average.
-
@Yeetyaah Poor work by the Hurricanes PR people. There he is wearing a jersey in an official Hurricanes media page and it is not showing the current jersey sponsor. Bloody nice jersey though and Ford have obviously pumped untold dollars into both the Canes and NZRFU's bank accounts so slightly excusable.

@Nepia lol when have I said I preffered Morgan to Love?
He's not wrong though, the Canes are going to need to make a decision at some stage on who their no1 general is. Right now Ruben Love is injured so it's a good opportunity for Morgan to showcase his talent.
Who knows, if they end up shifting Jordie into 12, then Ruben's long term position could be fullback.

I didn't read the article - just the sentence in the pic. That fluffs both of them.
-
@Nepia I think they both have futures in the game and have shown potential at their very raw ages. They both have alot of growing to do over the next couple years, don't get me wrong, but that's to be expected.
I think they have both performed admirably so far and I can't wait to see what they do for the Canes going forward. I do feel Aiden Morgan is probably the more natural 10 in terms of running a backline, whereas Ruben Love looks to be more of a fullback turned 10 who is more than capable in that position aswell.
I guess the Canes will need to pick the Number 1 eventually but I think both of them need more time in the saddle before those decisions can be made.

To run a backline really well the10 needs a good all-round game - so would prefer Love because he has a bit more pace & also has the longer punt to exit us out of trouble from deep in our territory... 9 & 10 are your playmakers, so very important, so lets select a 9/10 combo & stick with it.
-
Resting ABs completely in matches is a nonsense... instead put those ABs on the bench where they can benefit their teams, also they'd feel more involved with their side & in general won't have to play too much game time.

Moorby is a better fullback than Love. The latter should be used mainly as a first five IMO.
Yeah, Love suits 1st-five better than 15... Moorby looks a very good player.

Whoever that ten ends up being in the long run, I hope we end up persisting with Cam Roigard at halfback aswell. He seems to be a smart footballer and has a sound kicking game which will take pressure off whoever that first five may be.

except managing the mental and physical workload of ABs is one reason why we keep them here in NZ. We don't tend to run our players into the ground, which keeps them fresher and extends their career.
Playing ABs right through Super leaves them gassed for the internationals (Robertson, looking at you buddy)

I'd have Love as an impact player, suits the super-sub role better than a snail paced JGB.
Morgan
Rayasi
PUJ
Sullivan
Moorby/Goosen
Barrett22-Love, 23-Proctor.

Having them on the bench though isn't running them into the ground.
