Bones, you're not Robinson Crusoe.

Cheika is not YET a great of the game. He could barely be considered a "good" of the game so far.

He MAY turn out to be the Messiah, he may not.

I reckon there was the same level of optimism for Deans early on, and for McKenzie.

Temper your optimism.

As someone said earlier one of the things we can look forward to is the potential serious denting of the halo of one of the coaches. I only hope it's Jones because England. That and English media. That and I really just dont rate him and despite what I wrote above I do rate Cheika (as the second best coach in the world).

Cheika's record in 2015 is won 10 lost 2 and the 2 losses were against the ABs. Not too shabby. Though the Wallabies were very close to slipping on their favourite banana peel Scotland ...

England are 6 Nation grand slammers which must make them the greatest team in the known universe!

Early chance for the Northern hemishpere to bite back after the WC. It's an enticing series but I sorta hope that both teams fizzle and it's a limp affair rather than a titanic struggle. You would expect the Wallabies to win 2 and lose 1.

Cheika has some real talent at his disposal but definitely short in some areas.

Will Skelton remain an impact player or will he start? Is he is a player to be feared? He is a behemoth of a human being.

Under Deans & McKenzie the Wallabies had players like Ioane, Folau, Genia, Beale but the ABs always found a way to contain them, most particularly Genia & Folau. I feel that Scott Sio & Will Skelton give the tight five some serious umph which is where they have been second best for so long.

Back to the Tahs. Though young Robertson is doing well at THP and we're a bit short on LHP  Might mean a switch back to the other side for Sekope? Certainly its time to cut Tilse and let some new blood in.

Barely? I'd say and unqualified "good" is a fair assessment at this point. Only coach to have won both a European Champions title and a Super Rugby title (and a Celtic Championship if we want to egg that pudding 😉 ).

I disagree slightly with Nick, I think that's a good analogy in some ways. He has pissed plenty of people off behind closed doors at the Tahs and Wallabies, but it seems he picks fights with suits not players.

That is the difference to me - Cheika will protect his players, over and above the establishment. Jones would protect anyone only so far as they would help boost his profile.

You can't please all the people all the time, but the suits will shut up if the players perform. I know which is more important.

Yeah ok. Forgot the Heinekin. Qualifies as a good of the game and at this stage a very naughty boy.

I'm not saying he's the greatest of all time. But my point was his record as a great coach is safe, at least in the minds of Waratahs fans like me.

You guys probably don't see it that way- that's fine. I'm not really trying to argue with you. I'm a massive fan of his and am not going to hide that, as you guys probably are with Hansen.

Wasn't Jones part of the 2007 RWC Final winning team? Not Australian team perhaps. Still part of the Final winning team.

So perhaps he was 87.86% more of a great than Cheika.

True, he was an assistant to Jake. And he has won a Six Nations now too.

Fair to say that in some ways he is the most successful international coach of all time, given his achievements for multiple sides. In SOME ways.

Just a bizarre line of reasoning isn't it.

What's next?

"Well, but, if NZ wasn't so good at rugby, how good at rugby would they be then, huh, huh"?

Yeah I'm not in tune with the papers here and started reading without checking the writer like I do with Ratpoo and Treason.
