big chance for Gallagher to show his wares.
An interesting sub plot. It's been reported that Romano thought he'd done enough to earn another contract but (understandably) the Crusaders went for a young player to develop. Romano was a bit grumpy about that. Now they get to face each other
Shall we take bets on which minute Romano gets red carded?
-
@duluth No idea why Romano would want to have stayed at the Crusaders anyway when he played about 40 mins total of Super Rugby last year and they same would have happened had he been offered another contract there this year, where they could give the contract to an up and comer.
Fair to say the Crusaders made the right call on that one, and also, he's done a decent job for us especially in recent weeks. Its worked out for both parties.

More likely he’ll niggle away at tyro and dare him to show he’s a man!

All Black Ofa Tuungafasi has been cleared to start at tighthead prop, despite receiving 28 stitches
They found him headgear big enough -

He doesn't move like it if the weekend's game is anything to go by!

Still probably 117 kegs to shift around!

The minute right after Moody or Tu’ungafasi get YC’ed…

Another throwback try...scored by a Blues legend

@dice What happened to "all of the pace" and "one of the quickest players around" when he moved to the South Island? Did he just stop doing sprint work?
He was always more of an 800 metre runner wasn't he? Something tells me he was an age grade runner at that distance rather than a sprinter.

Yeah, I think his fitness levels were highly regarded so that may be a result of running the longer distances 800m and over. But, in that clip he genuinely looks quick, it's baffling he lost his pace so early, didn't he know he had to wait until he was 27 after a career of almost a try a game for the ABs?

Agree he did look quick. Maybe he bulked up a bit too much for his body type?

@nepia He started wearing a Crusaders jersey. Apparently, it takes 25% off your pace.
Because of all that extra character he developed from the culture down there.
