Gee that Chase Tiatia try towards the end was a piece of beauty.

Just rewatched the game. Canes poke and Chiefs slightly better than poke.

Crusaders/Blues to easily top the NZ chances of winning this title. Prolly geared a bit more heavily towards a Breakdance after the final

Way too early to tell IMO. I don't think all teamsare firing on all cylinders yet. Saders will be there or thereabouts of course but Canes have time to turn a corner, Highlanders could go deeper than you'd think.
Chiefs have been very disrupted so far and if they can hit the back end of the comp at something close to full strength they are contenders.

Based on what I have seen it's pretty easy to call this early.

Yeah, teams have been seriously disrupted by covid. We could see some significant form changes by the playoffs.

I'm just going by coaches comments before this started and it was clear that they were planning on building toward the back half. Given the format of the comp and the expansion teams they had a lot of wriggle room.
Apart from that it has been very rare to see two teams at close to full strength against each other.

That's all nice and irrelevant to me.

Except for what we actually can see

    So far I have seen

    Squads decimated by Covid
Makeshift games against a sometimes makeshift Moana Pasifika
Unsettled starting teams with widly varying outcomes
Players from club rugby filling gaps.
    Managed returns of ABs
    7 of 15 rounds
No games between NZ and Oz sides

I'm happy to hold fire on predictions.

I'm happy not to be a little puss and make a bold prediction based on how the teams have performed despite all that.

As above. Blues and Crusaders, prolly Crusaders with Canes and Highlanders looking to be complete choppers.
