The Kiwis again stunned Australia when Roch ‘N’ Horse shocked punters with her win in Saturday’s Group 1 Newmarket Handicap. Those that backed Roch ‘N’ Horse might be able to buy themselves a full tank of petrol after returning a massive $95.90 dividend on the Victorian TAB while she paid $121.30 for the win in NSW. The shocks continued in the minor placings. The $61 chance The Astrologist grabbed second ahead of September Run, who started at $26. The trio combined to produce a trifecta dividend of $44,694 in Victoria while another Kiwi, Levante ($18) finished fourth, contributing to a massive first four dividend of $205,657.

That NSW TAB dividend tells me I was robbed!

VE at ridiculously short odds upset in the G1 Ravnet. JMac took her back to the rear, she roared around at the turn and looked for the world would get up quickly, but drifted and flattened out and was well beaten a couple lengths by Montefilia. Disappointing.

Polly goes at Rosehill in a couple hours, G3 stakes 2000m. Race 3 No. 13. Heavy track. Everything suits.

Yeah and only 53.5 in the weights. Not sure how long it’s been since she’s carried that weight.
Racing is a fickle hua though. She should go well though. Hopefully

It’s pissing rain in Rosehill for Race 2, it’s dark and can barely see the horses, they’re having a tough time running through this!
-
Very nice 2nd place to Polly, took the middle part of the track and was gaining strongly to the line, just held off by the favourite. 50 more yards would have won it. Nice job, cash the cheque!

If she got out earlier she would have won. Super run. Happy to get a decent cheque as meeting abandoned after our race

‘Couldn’t see a thing’: Top hoops raise Rosehill safety concerns
Sydney’s premier jockey James McDonald rode in the three races and said the extremely heavy surface, driving rain and visibility issues was “as bad a track as you will ever get. … I couldn’t see a thing.’’

Damn - I emptied my TAB account on Polly's nose!!!
That's not as bad as it sounds due to previous poor punting.

We all had a plunge on her. You’re in good company. 😁

I almost singled Polly in my early quaddie, but did add the short-priced fave with Willie Pike for insurance to my ticket at the last minute, and was alive to some pretty good prices on a broad selection in the last leg (first two winners went off at 10-1 and 9-1 respectively). They they cancelled rest of the card (now rescheduled for Monday), and paid out on all the horses in last leg, $69 per horse on a 20-cent ticket, I had six selections and banked $415 on a $14.40 wager, so won’t complain too hard. Ready to play my late quaddie ticket now.

Randwick today, Race 7, Horse No. 2.
2000m, G3, heavy track, post 7, Hughie Bowman up…
Should be bread & butter, right?

What a fuckinbeauty! Wire-to-wire. Easy. Another stakes win. Congrats. I singled her 1st leg in a whole whack of quaddies.

TV comm says Polly will be defending her Gosford Cup win in three weeks, is that right?

I doubt it. She’ll have to carry too much. Been nominated for Doomben Cup.
Was a pretty easy watch that last furlong

As a punter it’s a great feeling when they’re three lengths ahead at the 150 and drawing away to put more daylight. It was over at the top of the straight, and those were some petty good horses she beat. Has stakes wins at both Rosehill and Randwick now, that has to feel pretty satisfying.
And singling her in a pile of 20-cent quaddies allowed me to really spread deep and throw in some roughies, and I did hit the one ticket for $1,300+. Sure would have liked to hit the early quaddie. One of my kiwi-bred longshot throwins won the first race at 44-1, and the winning tickets were huge payouts.

Wow. Going to face some extremely tough company in that race.
‘Unfinished business’ instead of Royal Ascot for Zaaki
Trainer Annabel Neasham confirmed the seven-year-old is headed north for what will likely be a two-run campaign over the winter carnival, before being set for the Cox Plate in the spring carnival.

She will only go if conditions suit. She won’t face them on top of the ground i doubt. In the right conditions she is a great force.
