Yep, unfortunately the White Ferns are toast. Even if results somehow go our way, I think we'd need to beat Pakistan by a margin much larger than we are capable of doing.

As they showed last night, and in their close losses v South Africa & Bangladesh, Pakistan are by no means a guaranteed win - let alone a large one...

I think the win by Pakistan over the West Indies mainly improved India and England's chances.

100%. West Indies have a horrific NRR, which will bite them as tiebreakers.

I still think it's the best format. Ultimately, if a noresult or poor NRR knock you out, it's because you were on the fringe. Good sides will find a way. We are unfortunately not a good side right now

Aussie & S.A. have far too much class for the rest of them - anything can happen in the knockout stage, but would be a massive surprise if they don't play in the final.
S.A. were looking at 300, were about 200 with 10 overs left, reckon they left 30 runs out there... the Aussie batters make the most of running the first run quickly giving them the chance of turning it into two, the rest don't consistently do that so miss out on a fair few runs.

    West indies choking now

    63/7 after 16.1

Does this mean we are now a chance again?

I think if Bangladesh beat India today then we are right back in it.

Assuming Australia, SA and England all qualify.

Us, India and Windies would all have one game left to play - NZ vs Pakistan, Windies and India both vs South Africa.

We'd have to win and Windies and India both lose - which on form should be expected, but not guaranteed.

Edit: Unfortunately the Bangles aren't even going to get close.

    Stick a fork in us.

Even if NZ had made the semi's they wouldn't had gone any further... too shite in the batting, can't form decent partnerships that would give us really good totals.

we'd be a puncher's chance. Couple of the top order fire, and it's on like kong ... lon gshots, but starters. Particularly at home.

We would have to rely on the other team not playing that well... but yeah, anything can happen when it comes to the knockout stuff, really disappointing that we've played so poorly at home.

    so we're done.

Our NRR has killed any small chance we had burgling a qualification spot. Down to a shootout between England and India for the fourth slot; both with similar NRR, but India has SA, and England has Bangladesh.

Barring washouts and assuming both win, it's strong advantage England right now. Goes to show - they got written off too early.

That said, SA vs WI looks the more interesting semi than the one with Australia.

Roll on the knockouts, can't wait!

@nzzp WI aren't guaranteed to be in the semis. They will be cheering for SA to beat India. Otherwise WI are gone too. Their loss to Pakistan could prove fatal.

Was looking at it from our perspective, so ignored them as we couldn't catch them. Fair poitn.

This game sums up our tournament.

Brainless batting decisions, throwing away strong positions, and just not good enough.

    Frustrating to watch

Comical in the last few overs and likely to be bowled out with overs to spare again.

Smithy is really having a crack at them too. Fair enough. He’s pissed off

Katey Martin makes up for being a run-out queen earlier with several boundaries at the end. 265/8
