    This feels significant?

Every other team in the Division is adding tools. KC just sold one of their biggest

Seriously, their offence is Mahomes, Kelce, and Hill. This is a huge move.

“A little ahead of it’s time.” Urban Meyer’s final year running the Jags, from The Athletic.

@kid-chocolate Urban Meyer is like a villain coach from a B grade sports movie. Cripes.

    excellent call

It's astounding he didn't get his comeuppance in a dramatic "half time in the final" locker room showdown

Be a test of 'Andy Reid is an offensive genius' theories that's for sure. It's yet another strong wide receiver class so the chiefs might be backing themselves to find and develop a guy. A massive haul especially compared to what the Brown paid for Cooper.

Be interesting to see how Hill goes with Tua, he's struggled with the deep ball so does that affect Hill?

they've now got two short receivers with crazy wheels so look for a LOT of crossing routes looking for chaos after the catch

But Tua is pretty average so i don't expect much to be honest

The big winner is Hill, who i assume is now getting paid.

Hill wanted Davante Adams-like money which the Chiefs couldn't afford.

League is in a very specific place right now.

    To be successful:
Explosive QB who can sling it
Difference making receivers (not just dudes who can catch, guys who can get separation and make plays)
    Offensive Line
    Pass Rush

Pretty much everything else is a role player. Despite this being a pass happy league, i don't think you even need elite corners, because even those guys are getting burned. Good corners in a good scheme is a better use of cap. Same with linebackers. But defense needs guys who can get to the QB over and over.
All you need is a half decent running back (see the current Superbowl champions who barely have one).

    @mariner4life good post.

Will be interesting if there is value suddenly in taking the traditional pocket passer (Brady) and surrounding with a solid roster. Dunno, that league is awesome, and they are driving year-round intrest. NZR should take note!

looking forward to the new season. Some absolutely fantastic teams to watch at the moment, and a really entertaining game

A Complete History of Kyle Shanahan's Bad Quarterback Decisions with the 49ers

A Complete History of Kyle Shanahan's Bad Quarterback Decisions with the 49ers

San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan hasn't made good decisions at the most important position -- quarterback.

Not great reading for 9ers fans. Especially the bit about Brady

@canefan laid out like that it's damning on the Niners isn't it?

Poor old Jimmy G. Far from the worst QB in the league, and has actually been very very close to success on two occasions, which is juuuuust enough to keep a guy on. But he'll never be that guy.

It looks bad. But easy to say after the fact. Brady defied the odds and continues to do so. Not scouting Mahomes and Watson is a little harder to swallow

I wouldn't read too much into that. Grant Cohn is a notorious click bait artist.

    Think Rattue, Stephen Jones etc.

The fact is with Shanahan it's going to come down to if Trey Lance is legit or not.

    lol ripped off.

If they rung Christchurch City Council they could find out how to get a perfectly fine modern stadium with a roof for a fraction of that

NFL says all 32 teams must have minority offensive coach this season

NFL says all 32 teams must have minority offensive coach this season

The NFL announced that teams must have a minority assistant on their offensive staffs for the 2022 season, a new requirement under the league’s Rooney Rule

Does this mean that beacuse there are not many Nepalese players in the NFL the minority offensive coach (whatever that means) must be from Nepal?

@higgins I can understand the logic behind this. Most new head coaches are offensive coaches. Very few offensive coaches are minorities.
