@antipodean I've often thought that "own research" derision is as dumb as "the customer is always right".
So, i have to get Politicians, authorities or the media to tell me what car to buy, what app to download, what hotel to stay in, what phone to buy, what route to take, what flight to take, what the team line up is, what time a restaurant opens, what good dogfood is, who won last year's fa cup, which mobile plan suits me, etc etc?
As a customer can I demand something for free because " the customer is always right"?
So fuck off George Takei, you're only looking for a way to deride someone whose opinion differs from yours π smug cnut.

I see our Golriz Gharaman made an almost as ridiculous twit.
Thinking of the Ukrainian people under bombardment- in particular the Rainbow community facing violence to come. Nz must actively mediate for peace rather than passively condemn
Two statements, each providing a different flavour of "WTF, you stupid beeatch?"

@kruse God damn, the bombs kill the LGBTQI++++++ that much harder.
Yep. I guess, if pressed, she might be able to get somebody smart to advise her, and get her to claim that she was saying that once under Russian rule, LGBTQNBSRE lives might be a little harder. Putin's government hasn't been particularly... inclusive.
But... yeah, she wasn't. She (?) was just jumping on latest bandwagon, and claiming that rainbows are hit hardest by the bombs.
And as to the difference between "mediating actively for peace" and "passively condemning" - and thinking Putin gives a goddamn iota of a shit for either? Just... send your thoughts and prayers. It'll be more helpful.
