Fuck this is an annoying period of the game with no Southee.
Our spinners are not stepping up. Ravindra just went for 10 in his last over !!
Obligatory daily comment about not having wags coming up!
Fancy our spinners not stepping up and carrying an extra one for Wags.. FML

Another one where the bails would go flying, but Umpires Call...
Southee gets him anyway without addition.
Nice debut century for Shreyas. He's taken a liking to Jamieson this morning.
-
Not an easy pitch to keep on but Blundell is not as tidy as Watling was
-
Turns out @Rapido and I were both right and both wrong. It was a good call to play both Kyle and Southee, but we should have played 3 seamers instead.

Yip

Be nice if the bloody spinners could at least get one wicket

fun fact: southee took 7/64 in 2012 in Bangalore. I think Rossco was captain back then.
Respect.

@pepe Southee is some bowler. Amazing figures in India
The graphic they flashed up before said he had 48 wickets at 23 against India. Which would explain why he's playing!
-
Not sure why we are still bowling spin, get Kyle back on asap to clean up the tail
-
@nzzp Test match bowling is a mix of strike power and craft. Can’t replace that time in the middle. He keeps himself fit and keeps turning up and delivering.
I do remember a few years ago when Southee was dropped by Stead ( apparently with agreement from Williamson ) for Henry when he was vice captain.

Three of the fluffybunnies and they can’t manage it.
Not sure if its been mentioned on here but I reckon Wagner shoulda played.
Timmy though, wow !

We should roll the tail quickly.
Then when we bat the question is what is the correct strategy? I would have thought we bat once and bat big. Score 550-600 and then look to roll the Indians for a not much.
The path to victory is clear.
Ashwin can bat, he’s no tail ender.

Nah, my comments on cricket always work out.

You and me both. I posted on here that Southee would get five yesterday, unfortunately my dial up connection timed out and it didn’t load properly.

An interesting morning. I'd expected our spin bowling to be weak and our pace to do okay-ish. I just hadn't expected our spin bowling to be quite as ineffective, or for all the wickets to come from pace.
Perhaps Wags in for Patel in game two. On the grounds that all our our spin bowling is a holding pattern at best, so may as well go for the strongest batting...
