I had precisely 0 interest in the T20 series, but looking forward to the tests.
I agree with Smithy's team, Southee is unlikely to be effective with military medium pace on a slow pitch with little swing. We'll want a point of difference and Kylo + Wags gives us that.

Which means the Selectors will go with Southee and Santner..

I have a suspicion that Jamieson could be least effective of the 3 seamers. Due to no bounce. But hell of a decision to make. Until you've given him a chance ... Like the Indians having to leave out Axar Patel in England. But I think Jamieson is on a different level to Axar in 'normal' conditions. So, not really like it at all ....
Southee is a canny operator these days. I think his control of the wobble seam / three-quarter ball will make him pretty effective even as the ball gets older.

Amazing problem to have isnt it.
3 World Class pace bowlers each with a unique strength and difference. -
I'm flip flopping. Top 6 picks itself.
But my first choice is lower order / bowling combo is:
- Ravindra
- Southee
- Wagner
- Sommerville
- Patel
But could accept Jamieson for Sommerville. But if they do this I'd be worried the selectors would also swap out Ravindra for the more experienced Santner. As that role's workload would jump by 100%.
I've been a defender of Santner, and think he's been a good balance selection and role player in difficult NZ conditions for his position. But am perfectly comfortable totally swapping him totally out of the 11 in Asia. I'm not worried about him as 3rd spinner, he's plenty good enough for that. But he isn't good enough for second spinner nor is he a good enough batsman.

A fair counter, Southee is a canny operator for sure. I just think we'd be crazy not to give Kyle a go given how insanely good he's been to date - his sheer height causes the Indian batsmen plenty of issues and I think that will continue even without the extra bounce. The point of release is completely different to our other bowlers which makes it tougher to pick up the length as quickly.
That said, it'll be the spinners that hold the key to 20 wickets.

Via Cricinfo:
On the pitch report, Deep Dasgupta and Simon Doull reckon there will be turn and perhaps variable bounce on this pitch. Some cracks, which are a bit wobbly around the edges already. You would want to win the toss here!
9 am Toss time: India win the toss and will bat.
Boooooooooooooo!
Not looking forward to the final innings...

another game decided by the toss.. yay

You mean the coach with a WTC, ODI World Cup Final and T20 World Cup Final in his resume?
