I am going to be all over this thread like a motherfucking rash tomorrow when I'm back in front of my PC
I've got just the movie queued up to tide me over.

Yes, it's so "of its time" it may as well be time stamped
Yes it's dripping in testosterone and Monster
It has a stupid satirical videoBut holy shit if you aren't giving that scrunch-nosed "oh yeah" face and bobbing your head when the main riff and drums kick in then there's something wrong with you

@mariner4life LOL, I know a guy in Warkworth who rocks that shit on the reg.

@tim yeah I kind of like All Summer Long too ... in fact, I bought the Rock n Roll Jesus album ...
I haaaaaate that song

I'm not generally a death / grind core / scream metal fan. But these two songs of The Great Southern Trendkill I absolutely love. No idea why.
Can certainly only play it when nobody else is around ... which is usually at about volume level 10 when picking up the kids from school. I'm not exactly the cool Dad in the parking lot.

@majorrage Pantera were in the dumb bogan category for a while, but they've been regarded as solid metal for a long time. Doesn't fit this thread - they are way too respected.
Really? Next time your at a party / dinner party put on The Great Southern Trendkill and see how cool they are ....

Early Chris De Burgh albums from the 70's are pretty good peaking with Crusader album in 1979.

My thread!
Have only read the thread title, but am sure this is about me
.
Will read the thread with much interest to see which music piston wristed gibbons make this a music piston wristed gibbon thread.
Anyway ...
... any music from a Disney movie, or really any animated movie from the 90s and 00s.
... love Lighthouse Family... Google them
... Seal (but he's on the cool side, just less well known)
... got through Uni listening to Steve Winward, and Noiseworks cassettes...

I've glimpsed through the thread and I think you're all trying too hard.
"Listen to this cool as fuck music that nobody has ever heard of but I can laugh about because if I day it's lame I'm a supercool music aficionado "
Let go of 'the cool' people, and embrace your inner lame.
Try something like:
Electric Blue by Icehouse
The Climb by Mikey Cyrus
The Living Years by Mike and The Mechanics
actually anything by Mike and The Mechanicsthere are more ... Just let me think ..
