If the example I saw online was legit, then definitely consensual. If so and while he is obviously a dick for trying to cheat on his new wife , it was really a private matter between them. I understand he’s stepping down now as it was going public and he wanted to lessen the impact on his family. Sensible move IMO.

People can’t do anything now. Certainly nothing dodgy without do gooders finding out and forcing tearful apologies and resignations.
Such different times though, Warnie woulda copped a fine, said ‘get fucked’ and then continue playing.
It’s a new world now.

I’m clearly getting on now, but to me those were more reasonable days.
Good post @MN5

@catogrande yeah I just saw an exchange that looked much more consensual than the original claim of it being unsolicited. Can't believe the media was inaccurate originally

Oh dear - this is the raison d'être of the media!
Reading through the reports yesterday "consensual" is what I saw too; it all changed when the other party was accused by her employer of theft and faced the sack. She became a victim overnight and claimed shock and horrification about texts that had been flying back and forth to and from her for weeks or months.
View to Our Tim's predicament here.
I do believe an empathetic team weep might help the millionaire kiddies cope better. And heal.

That's the difference though. Paine resigned and wasn't sacked (legally very difficult with the squad already named and him having already been cleared for the incident).
He would obviously be under serious pressure because the next individual or team failure would likely result in his sacking "on form". Score a 100 in the first test and win though and things change very quickly. But he isn't Shane Warne and that isn't on the cards.
His tenure was approaching a natural end anyway, it's just the path of least resistance for him.

Prolly my favourite sporting event.
Tour match has started today but Cricinfo aren't doing score updates.
First test is December the 8th.
Love that Tim Paine is getting hammered as I would prefer to see Steve Smith as captain. (When is that being decided??)

Same. But everyone seems to be predicting Cummins with Smith as a vc
That makes PC sense but not practical playing sense to me.

/Selfish/ That post makes me happy as we need a wet track for Polly Grey at Rosehill /selfish/
Fair enough. What date(s)? Looks like it'll still be wet through to the weekend.

Saturday 2000m race. The wetter the better. (Well sort of)
