I thought about both Sam Neill and Lorde and rejected the both.

Sam used to be through the Jurassic Park period, but he's semi-retired and if he's in big movies these days then it's surely cameo parts.

Lorde probably was for a while, but right now she seems like "That girl who used to sing Royals". She might be hanging out with Taylor Swft, but I reckon she's slipped down the pecking order. If the A-list is the Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise's of the world, then Lorde isn't going to cut the mustard. B-list for me.

I remember her and Lydia Ko won some sort of teenager of the year award and a mate of a mate shared all sorts of wank shit on facebook and got on the bandwagon of how proud he was of these awesome girls.....I pointed out that it was creepy that a bloke in his mid 30s was going on about this.

He then defriended me.

I think Russell is officially Australian now. Cliff Curtis is Mexican. I think... he's definately been Mexican in everything I've seen him in since Once Were Warriors. Except that time he was an Arab.

Maybe Lucy Lawless. Or the guys from the Concords. Tho' the fact I can't remember their names (Brett & ... ) isn't selling that. I'm sure they are A list in NZ tho'. Lorde would definately be A List. Tho globally some of that is due to hanging out with Tatylor Swift.

What about that bird that slept with Robbie Williams in 2000 and told everyone about it. She's about as A-List as it gets, isn't she?

    Re Lorde http://blkdontcrack.tumblr.com
The Little Richard comparison is perhaps s little harsh but all things considered fair.

Dixon is indycars but I guess the point still stands I guess. If he was in formula 1 he'd probably be known worldwide .

Yeah, 5th place Mark Webber is globally famous, Dixon is huge in most of the US.

Lucy Lawless? Hell no! This is the global A-list! I briefly considered Adams and Dixon and discounted both - you have be both the Franchise player AND come with some mystique. LBJ, Curry, Shaq, Jordan, Rodman types.

Ayrton Senna was A-list.

Lorde? Well you can make a case that she's A-list, but I will say this. When Chris B. is sending out invitations to "Chris B.'s A-list BBQ for A-listers", ain't gonna be no invite going to Ella. Mick and Keith can sit around for three years being professional party goers and still command invites - let's face it, Keith can come on a mortuary gurney - but, being Taylor Swift's buddy cuts no ice with me. In fact, after what Gollum told me about Taylor, she might struggle to warrant an invite. She's hardly going to cause Mick and Keith to stay late! :)

I know people ( all over the world, not just NZ ) are getting fatter but that is a truly baffling statement. 7 footers don't exactly grow on trees in the US you know. A bloke I know avidly follows V8s and UFC despite a) not even having a drivers license and b ) being someone who couldn't fight his way out of a wet paper bag.

Even at my best I never cracked 10 seconds in the hundred metres but I still avidly watch that whenever I can. From what you're saying we should be more into Sumo wrestling but there's not much of that going on in good old NZ.

I'm not having a go I just find your reasoning for being "astonished" rather bizarre.
