T20 World Cup 2021

WE are going to lose to Afghanistan if we continue to play the same game.
Same as Pakistan, our timing is just way off. I think we only put away about 10-15% of the bad balls. No problems with single collection, but we aren't cashing in as much as we should.
And then bowling? Yes, we won, but there was pretty much so no urgency. Lots of bad balls to be put away. We won because we managed a run-rate squeeze, that was it.
Shocking stuff.

Did the reverse @booboo. Stayed up and started watching rather than going to bed.
It worked, as when I started watching it looked like the Jocks had a decent run at it, then they didn't as we squeezed them, then it didn't work quite so well as they got closer than we should have let them.
Take the Dub.
Also (dunno if mentioned as not followed this thread), but what's with Boult's action?

Milne gets carted for 5 consecutive boundaries.
After a maiden in his first over against the same batsmen.
Milne needs to bowl fuller with his pace.
NZ made that much harder than it should have been.

I wonder if India will offer Afghanistan a whole lot of resources over the next few days to help try and knock us over?

Youβd expect so yeah.
I canβt see us winning the tournament regardless. Something drastic has to change

I think we are building into it. We dismantled India nicely. Should have beaten Pakistan first up

@donsteppa I think we've got to roll the dice a bit with that.
To play another batsman we've got to leave out a specialist bowler and trust Neesh and Phillips to muddle through 4 overs.
Whereas, if we play Seifert, we may not need him to bat if Kane and Conway can do a bit more than last night. And if you need your No. 7 to bat for more than 10 balls you've already fucked up enough to probably not deserve to win.

That was very odd - Cross looked clueless in the first over and smoked Milne in the second.
Milne's overs went for 0, 20, 7 and 9.
Scotland are pretty handy - I think they were missing one of their best seamers as well. You can see how they've smoked plenty of opposition - including the Bangles and England!
Interestingly - the guy who made 140 that day (vs England) was MacLeod, who looked like a weak link last night.
I'm pleased he didn't come off.

@Chris-B agree Scotland have some decent players, I'm happy to notch up the W and move on. T20 is a fickle version of the game where lesser teams can easily knock off the top teams with just one or two good performances, which is why it is not taken as seriously as the longer formats. We just have to bullshit our way to the semi and then hope one of our world class players has a couple of good days at the office.
-
@no-quarter Exactly.
Muddle our way into the semis and then win two tosses, bowl the opposition out cheaply and run down their tallies losing no more than two wickets!
There you go Stead - should be all you need. A double-headed coin and lots of luck!

A deflected overthrow to beat England in the SF will be a good start!

Mitch Jr. will be dispatched over the boundary with similar velocity and regularity as Neesh and Phillips!
Then we should probably get Finn Allen into the side as a specialis.... oh... never mind
