Interesting SGH says he's never watched the game and never will. Just too much pain.
Get that. I watched it years later and still got nervous. Imagine how he felt.
I was there, but have never watched the game on TV

I watched it as soon as we got back to where we were staying. Have watched it a couple of times since then.

I never felt I wanted to. It wasn’t a euphoric feeling at the final whistle, it was relief

I had got a massive headache, had a drink and went to bed.
Made me enjoy rugby again after that result.

was at the game, and emotionally spent by half time. My younger son was born the Friday ... so winning the RWC was only the second best thing to happen that weekend.
Epic. Such a massive game, and Auckland was just going off afterwarsds. Hundreds of thousands going crazy downtown, it was insane. So memorable.

It certainly made me relax more during test matches for a long time

https://www.thesilverfern.com/post/353529-best-of-rwc-episode-16/Thanks @Duluth. Didn't see you had posted it before.
Just went through The Final article and got pissed off with all the typos I missed ...
Edit: thankfully I didn't notice any errant apostrophes.

Like me. A great sense of relief and wondering how I was going to get the teeth marks out of the sofa.
My other abiding memory was the look on Beaver's face after the final whistle - just so full of joy. Man, he played the game of his life that night - coolest on the field.

I got tickets in the week leading up to the final , booked a flight and flew back from the UK for the weekend. Best trip ever; well worth it.
Watched it back the next day and was sh*tting myself.

That's what redemption looked like
