The sun is shining, it's a glorious day here in the big 09. People sunbathing, went for a decent bike ride, had a row, ate a magnificent lunch and cleaned the oven (partner's least favourite chore).
So, things are pretty good. All Blacks on tonight, no work today/tomorrow, and some good weather to enjoy. Got 20L of Pilsner into the fermenter last night.
This lockdown's been tough, but every day is a day closer to the future. Look after yourself Ferners, it's OK to be affected by this relentless situation

Resurrecting this thread, as lockdown is really hammering us at the moment.
Rugby on TV is fantastic. Really enjoyed the Northland game on Friday (sorry Waikato Fans).
NZZP Jr is mastering sourdough, and doing a great job, so is pounding out good sourdough on a regular basis. Stereotyped, but absolutely mint (and a good life skill).
Other than that, feels very much like:
The rain is doing good things for our dams in Auckland as well, which is awesome. Maybe water restrictions come off soon.

Yep the rugby has been good. Shame the test series are over and was really something to look forward to each week. Same with the NRL finals.
But tell ya what, spring is here and it's a farken great time for horse racing with the big races now not too far away.

Apparently we are going camping this weekend.
In the back yard.
My protests about stupidity, the effort to put the tent up etc especially when I have a perfectly good bed and kitchen metres away from where the tent will be erected are being ignored.
I'm praying for rain.
and yes the footy the last two weeks has been fantastic.

Watching pissed people at the Melbourne Cup is always a good giggle on the news.

Last minute week in Portugal coming up. 27 degree average there just as the Indian Summer here ends.
Currently watching James Martin make a superb carbonara whilst drinking a brilliant Welsh single malt.
Finally, pre holiday I’m going to my culinary idol, Tom Kerridge, 2 mich star pub for lunch tomorrow.
Last 18 months been an epic grind and a lot of you have borne the brunt of some deep frustrations. I wont apologize for that but I’ll give genuine thanks for the superb, unequivocal support offered. TSF is more than just a forum. It’s a genuine (support) network.
I know it’s not over. Far from it. But right now, I’m feeling extremely content and happy. And it’s fucking brilliant.

My Galaxy A50 suddenly stopped recognising my PIN. And ... security features are strong. And ... NZZP has had a couple of Friday Afternoon beers in the sun.
This, friends, is not a good combination.
I'm back in now after a factory reset, but it took all my google skills. And in the end, you need to do a reset while PLUGGED INTO A COMPUTER. I mean, I get security has really lifted, but that's really annoying.
Ah well, still a week we got to the end of. Crikey. Roll on 2022.

I've just spent nearly 2 days in bed with a gastrointestinal bug - haven't felt so crook since I caught Salmonella a decade or two ago. Seriously, definitely not nice.
But now I'm over it and it's ended quite quickly, I feel really great (must be the endomorphins) and am sitting with the cat on my lap reading a book. A def. covid-free and positive situation to be in...

I'm about to head to Atomic Brewery in Redfern, then to axe throwing in Alexandria, then dinner and drinks nearby.
Not sure it is such a good idea to go to the brewery first ...
Then try
1 Dinner and drinks
2 Brewery (not sure I'd go to an Atomic Brewery, samples sounds rather miniscule)
3 Axe throwing? If it is indoor then where is the challenge? Oh I see, Group Axe Throwing...sounds great for change management consultants...

Since we were supposed to be going on a dirty date night to the Duke of Marlborough, wifey got me some Spitfire, Old Peculiar, etc beer for tonight instead.
Crikey, she’s got you some strong chewy bastards there. What’s she trying to do to you?

Give me beer with taste that isn't trying to out hop all the other beers, I'm so sick of over hopped shit

Yes. Beer tastes of malt, barley and hops. In a particular mix. Anything that has citrus overtones with an aftertaste of honey accompanied by a lingering bitterness on the tongue is not beer. It is panther piss for the hipsters.

None of us are change management consultants.
Also, the order was down to when we could get bookings at the various places.
But can report everything went fine, no limbs were lost. I had three wins on the trot to make the final and then lost without a point in 5 throws. In general was fun, would do it again.
