I'd like to see Toby Crosby signed in the WTG. He looks a real talent.

@cgrant Hmm, if we're going for a school leaver no. 8 in the WTG, Cooper Flanders is a much better option. But yeah, wrong province, unless Wellington have already poached him.

If I’m being completely honest both Crosby and Flanders look a little undersized to be 8s at the next level.

@canes4life I think he's a few centimetres shorter than Devan, but if he's anything like Devan, he'll bulk up considerably in the next few years. Devan was still quite skinny when he left school.

Having said that, I'm hoping the Magpies Academy develops him as a 7. He's great at making turnovers already.

He's been a great captain and decision maker. I can see him becoming a captain at a higher level, too.

It's a pity that Mr and Mrs Flanders stopped having children after Cooper ...

@stargazer I have seen bits and bobs of Cooper and he looks to have the goods. Hopefully he can bulk up and put on some size, but yeah he looks more suited to 7.

I'm not sure if you watched the full Scots-St Pat's game but Laban mentioned that Crosby and their 2nd 5 were the 1st XV locks the year before.

@bovidae Nothing unusual in 1st XV. Some players grow faster early, others later, some only grow sideways.

@mikey07 meh, both are pretty ordinary from what I've seen. Unless there are some out of the box signings (which I highly doubt) the Canes won't be doing much in 2022.

It will be interesting who will wear the 10 jersey most often in 2022: JGB or Love. Both are quite limited: JGB limited in talent and speed, and Love limited in SR experience and nous. I can't see Morgan getting much game time yet. He's been struggling in NPC and has been signed way too soon by the Canes. There's no way he's ready for the step up.

All are pretty average goal kickers, too. When Jordie is playing, that's no issue, but when he's not ...
