    @bovidae dunno why they only have 4 games in those weeks...leave 1 team on a bye...the table at the end is the table, don't worry about promo/relegation in this disrupted season.

    Just let the teams play footy!

    @taniwharugby

    Week 6 of the new draw was meant to be the final round of the original draw so the next round will either start from the week 3 games or NZR has to make an entirely new schedule. I'm disappointed that Waikato isn't getting any day games so far (3 Friday night games since the NPC resumed).

    So the final votes are in for Waikato's team of the century. This team was voted by fans, and there is a degree of recency bias in some selections. I didn't vote myself but this wouldn't be the team I would have selected (5 changes for me).

    Looks extremely light at centre

    @ploughboy

    Mine would be:

    I Clarke
    Gatland
    Loe
    Gordon
    Robinson
    Messam
    Holah
    Muir
    Duggan
    Donald
    Sivivatu
    McLeod
    Kahui
    Smith
    D Clarke

    Obviously I am too young to have seen the Clarke brothers live but they were local legends. My old man would probably find room for Hemi and Reid in there. The team selected has a lot of centurions from the same era but does exclude both Mitchell and Foster, as well as the 3 of the 5 highest points scorers for the province (DB Clarke is 2nd).

    @bovidae. Pretty much agree there. But based on my Dad's views I would have Catley at hooker and Brian Morrisey or Pickering in for Muir. Holah v Monkley is close. Bruce Smith was my favourite winger.

    after i posted thought about move loe to tighthead and clarke to loosehead. muir for me not even in the conversation at eight. thought hard about ponty reid at 9 . hemi was also a star in his time.

    Deon was a favourite of mine. For the rest, I've only selected players I have seen play in person apart from the Clarke's.

    @bovidae. Did you see Brian Morrissey in his heyday as an 8? Unbelievable work rate. One of my favourites as a kid and I watched him for years with Tokoroa. Muir was very good but never reached those heights. TKB is close to Duggan too. Ron Hemi and Bryce Cowley were 50s legends along with Ponty Reid. All in all some great footballers in contention.

    Anderson at lock. He was a beefy forward who drove hard.

    Yes. The first Waikato game I attended was the RS defence against Thames Valley in 1980, immediately after taking the shield off Auckland. Morrissey was a very good no.8 in that team. To be honest, as a young kid who played on the wing I was more interested in watching Major and Smith score tries then.

    Think I was there too. We went in for the 'Beautiful Sunday' reception at Rugby Park after the Shield win. Bruce Smith was my favourite player then. But, Morrissey, after he went from flanker to 8, was close.

    Just had a chat with one of the Sky commentators , he did say it was a rumour only , but they are hearing that all finals in the NPC will be scrapped for this year
    I would say if the thats case , it probably seals the fate of Harbour , Auckland & CM .
