Chiefs vs Highlanders
-

Ngatai looking pretty good; the more I think about it, the more I'd like to see a Ngatai/Crotty combo in June. Fekitoa hasn't been very convincing this season IMO.

It will be interesting whether Ngatai will be cited for that tackle. I think yellow was harsh.

DMac is having a pretty average game, second week in a row. Maybe they should rest him for a week. He looks too nervous and agitated.

And do the Chiefs players have soap on their hands; dropping so much ball!
-

With a jumping player it is the defenders responsibility to wait until they land safely.

Might see a new tactic or innovation born from this: every attacking player will jump just as he gets to the defense, causing the would be tackler to cower in fear of being red carded if the silly bugger jumping at him lands wrong....

It'll be a try fest with no one interested in tackling. -

Ngatai grabbed his legs low and then stood up. Only one way that tackle was going to end. Nothing to complain about.

That's the way I saw it, as well.

Given the way these sort of incidents have been reffed in recent times I think Ngatai was more likely to get a red than he was to be let off.
-

Drove upwards causing the player to flip.

Unfortunate, but that's always going to be a yellow under the current interpretations.

More concerning is the most incompetent TMO in the game trying to convince the ref it was a red. I'm amazed he keeps getting matches -

Yes. You can't tackle a player withoiut the ball. That's an old law

The ball bounced but it was just a kick retrieval. How hard is it to grasp that fact?
-

If Dixon lands on his shoulder, it is red. You could argue that he did.
-

And that right there is what would concern me about D Mac at test level. One on one with Naholo... like a man vs a kid, only going to end one way.
