Absolutely pathetic that isn't a red card. The reasoning behind it staying at yellow was The fact Dixon landed on his side. When should the luck of the victim impact on the punishment. Needed to be red.

Only saw it once, but it looked pretty messy. Will have to wait for the replay.

Tough for the Cheifs now to win this with a man in the bin for the next 10 minutes. Really they needed to start well after half time. Instead they will be lucky to keep the Landers off the score board.

they used that reasoning for the red card on Le Roux...the fact he landed on his head.

Hmmm this debate is typical of rugby forums

1) Chiefs supporter: fckn ref, not even a penalty

2) Clan supporter: definite red, looking at a couple of weeks on the sidelines

Take the patches off people...and this is coming from a Crusaders man :p

Ngatai grabbed his legs low and then stood up. Only one way that tackle was going to end. Nothing to complain about.

Unaffiliated supporter: not even a penalty. All he did was stand there. I'm not gonna blame someone else if I ram my car into theirs and break my neck.

With a jumping player it is the defenders responsibility to wait until they land safely.

Good call as a non red card I thought.

A few other thoughts

Naholo looks brilliant for first game back - some good runs, great kick chasing and a turnover also.

Highlanders are reading the Chiefs attack. Chiefs need to mix it up - too much one dimensional wide passing from Weber.

Highlanders halves out playing Chiefs.

Exactly, and they also used it for the Kings' player to only give him yellow (player landed on back, not neck/head).

The most important criteria for being a rugby referee is to be a fucking idiot.

Dixon jumped, but Ngatai also pushed forward at him in the air and also lifted with his arms- at least in slow-mo that is how it appeared.

That's his point. No one jumped for the Le Roux tackle either. If the one last week was a red, so was that providing the player landed on his head ( i can't remember the exact wording).

    My view.

Incorrect call.

Lowe on Fekitoa last year. Fekitoa jumped into the tackle, Lowe was YC'd.
After the game Lowe's YC was rescinded as he wasn't at fault.

This one looked spectacular but was basically the same. You can't blame a tackler when someone jumps into them. If you do then it adds fuel to the fire which says these rulings are unfair.

What did Ngatai do that was wrong or dangerous?

he wasnt jumping for the ball though, at the time Ngatai commits to him, Dixon is still on the ground, and ball bouncing off his shoulder, he then jumps.
