Wallabies vs All Blacks 3 (Perth)

it's really great that when Weber stinks the joint out we have the calm and measured TJP to come on and settle everything down
nah, i'm kidding. good side
now that the whips are cracking, it really does appear that Fozzie is selecting the right side. Down to performance now.

Aside from Bridge, I'm happy with that
yeah, never struck me as an impact type player but agreed, other than that pretty much spot on
-
Well ... if you're all going to mock me for trying to get down with the "yoof" ...
I could join Planet Rugby ... except that's turned into Planet Toxic Politics (TM), so maybe not
Or maybe the Green-and-Gold-Rugby mob ... except they're currently obsessed with why the ABs won't distribute talent to Oz SR sides, and there's a whole weird groupthink that somehow it's NZR's duty to sort out Australian rugby because NZR needs the Aussie SR TV money.
Nah, forget it. If I can moan about Fozzie, I'll take the ribbing here instead

This is definitely the biggest game of Weber's career.
Foster said:
“Brad has been with us through the Steinlager Series and coming into the Rugby Championship, we really wanted to build the nine combination, especially with Aaron not here and to complement TJ’s leadership and experience, so this is a great opportunity to put our faith in Brad to start the Test.”

@kiwiwomble and Jacobson not on bench. but i can see we need to play more players so have to have some rotation
-
time for this team to put thier big boy pants on and start showing some consistency

5 games in 5 weeks, right? Including 2 against the best team in the world - it sure is. We can only hope the ABs manage to put NZRs money where Fosters mouth is!
-
@machpants Yeah. Rieko at 11 and Jordie at 15. Let Havili continue to develop as a test level 12, which he's looking like. TJP off the bench. Natural playmakers at 10 and 12, not cramming DMac in at 15.
Actually looks sensible ... good even ... very good.

Get used to it.
If you need a thicker skin I'll lend you one. I am the local serial killer that makes coats out of people in case you hadn't noticed so
I have thick skins available (oh and don't piss me off).As for the team, about as good as we can hope for (without Smith obviously, and the others that can't be there).
-
I'm liking the height of all three backfield players aswell. We need it as I'd imagine the Wallabies will look to put pressure on us in the air.

Skin's thick enough, I went to secondary school in NZ with a pommie accent. Now THAT was ongoing ribbing ...
Happy to see that backrow unchanged again. Papalii for me looks a seriously good openside in the making. Huge workload and tackle count every game, links well but most important seems to "somehow by accident" get his body into those dark places in the breakdown that slow the ball that split second ... in a way I haven't see an AB 7 do since a certain legend retired.
Just worried he'll get shunted out of the 23 regardless when Cane comes back but can't see it being any other way.

sorry guys just checked my phone, it appears i had this team a couple of hours ago.. will resume sauce services for next away games

Overall that's a pretty damn good team. When Foster selects the right players you see how much talent we still have.
Not that happy with Ardie at 8, I'd actually prefer him as our bench option but he's captain now so has to start.
Weber gives me the absolute shits, our depth at 9 is bare. He's probably a better bet than TJP though who is a bench option at best really. Have to feel for Beauden though, gets his shot at 10 again but has to do it without the GOAT inside him that Mo'unga has had.
Bridge on the bench offers basically nothing. Jordie starting with DMac on the bench is a good call - DMac can cause havoc against tired defenses, that's his best spot at test level.
Looking forward to this, nice to have some rugby to break up the lockdown.

Oh FFS, I was all set to fire up about (2 out) of 3 Barrett brothers and Reece on the wing. Now I have one less thing to be grumpy about.
No Jacobsen is a surprise, unless I missed his injury status?
I don't think he covers all backrow positions as well as Ethan. Nor have I seen him casually hit a dropkick.
